This is because if Canada and the USA both required both parents to be citizens, then Cruz would be a citizen of no country on earth, would have no place to live and the baby would have to be dumped in the trash, ocean or whereever.

And I say “preferably the mom” because before 1980, you only have the mom’s word for it on who the dad is and I’m sure the founding fathers were aware of adultery and may have done some of their own screwing around.

Birther logic has gotten so convoluted that I've actually read it argued here that an adopted child could never run for President because it would be impossible to ascertain if his biological parents were citizens or not. Just ridiculous.
I'm all for Ted Cruz. I think he's eligible. Furthermore, birthers can stomp their feet all they want but I'm confident should Senator Cruz toss his hat into the ring, he'll face no serious legal obsticals regarding his eligibility.
your points are very good. But there are some purists who insist on born on US soil with both parents as citizens is the only NBC. Obama’s father was never US citizen and he is president in his 2nd term. So the purists are illogical, irrelevant and incompetent.
