Tea party groups tell Sen. Lamar Alexander he’s vulnerable in 2014, should step aside
The Washington Times ^ | August 14, 2013 | By Tom Howell Jr.

Twenty tea party and conservative groups in Tennessee have signed onto a letter that asks Sen. Lamar Alexander to retire, claiming “our great nation can no longer afford compromise and bipartisanship, two traits for which you have become famous.”

Their letter praises Mr. Alexander, a Republican, for his long service to the Volunteer States.

But they say he has not fought hard enough for conservative ideals, even if it means digging in his heels when congressional gridlock calls for a deal.

“America faces serious challenges and needs policymakers who will defend conservative values, not work with those who are actively undermining those values,” they wrote.

They can all either protect and defend the Constitution, their SOLE duty and reason for being in office, or get out of the way. A democrat in the office is no more harmful. A democrat HOUSE is no more harmful than this collection of cowardly, lazy, sacks of power hungry, unreasonable people

Whatever it is these people are letting run their lives, they need to be a lot more wary that we just don’t care if the House goes dem next year because we know now that it truly does not make a difference

Heck, the senate’s doing more wit Lee and Cruz just with their display of character in the minority than the house is doing with that nothing in charge

You are far too nice. I would not have referred to them in such glowing terms. I would have referred them with such terms as POS, SOBs, MFers, a$$holes etc etc.

If he’s vulnerable then run and take him down. With every RINO the Tea Party defeats in the primaries, the more impact their victory will have and the more recognition they will receive.

I find it always more effective to use good vocab and let the reader paraphrase. And you may certainly paraphrase as you did.

I point and laugh at all these people who actually cling to the belief that their voice makes a difference, that letters and phone calls and emails get read, and that holding hands at a protest singing “God Bless America” means anything.

The ballot box, the mail box, and the soap box no longer mean anything.

That leaves just one box left. And I got mine.

Sadly, it must come to that but I doubt no more than a handful will respond our way - ergo we will become the USSR very soon.

There is NO excuse for ever having a RINO in any red state. The conservative strategy should be to occupy every safe Red State seat wtih a hardcore conservative. It would result in an election proof core of conservatives ala Ted Cruz.
