ABC’s Stephanopoulos Hits Back at Rand Paul for Suggesting He Colluded with Obama

Speaking with Laura Ingraham this afternoon, George Stephanopoulos addressed Republican Sen. Rand Paul‘s suggestion that the ABC host purposely aided the Obama White House in driving the “war on women” narrative of 2012.

In an interview with Geraldo Rivera last week, Sen. Paul asserted that Stephanopoulos’ “obscure” question about contraception during a GOP debate might hint that the newsman colluded with the Obama campaign to generate the resultant “war on women” narrative.

Steph's question was to Romney and it came out of left field.

STEPHANOPOULOS: But I do want to get that core question. Governor Romney, do you believe that states have the right to ban contraception?

That was the first time in the primaries, in the election cycle, that states banning contraception was even mentioned.

Romney was tongue-tied, because the question was so out of left field. No state, IIRC he responded, that Romney knew of had any intention of banning contraception.

Even Rush Limbaugh has pointed to that question in that forum was the opening salvo in the lefts/Dems claim the Republicans had a war against women.

I agree with Paul on this one. That question really came out of left field. It was clearly a “gotcha” question for Romney, who was the presumptive front-runner. Way too many coincidences and tie-ins with Obama 2012 for Stephanopolous (sp?) to be under the microscope for this one.

Anyone remember that it was George who was able to get through to George Bush (the elder) on the Larry King show as a “random” caller the week before the election of Bill Clinton? After the election, it was revealed that a producer of the show called George Snuffullufagus and patched him through. George has colluded before.
