Ah, yes I remember the Queensboro. Years ago when I had a delivery business I HATED having to cross that bridge. Driving on the approach roads on either side of it is a big time PITA. OTOH, This bridge was an amazing engineering feat when it was constructed in the early 1900’s.

The Pulaski Skyway connecting Newark & Jersey City is similar; won all kinds of awards when it was built (when few people had cars), but now is just a disaster. I was stuck in traffic on it years ago; there was a car on fire in the right lane, people squeezing past in the left, and no shoulder. They have exit ramps from the fast lane as well.

A mess.
