Racism may be a quality innate to humanity, with ostensibly smarter people simply hiding their racism better than others.
A new study shows that white Americans with greater socioeconomic status — often perceived to be associated with greater intelligence and sophistication — espouse more egalitarian ideals compared to their lower echelon counterparts. But those Americans are just as likely to support the preservation of social and economic privilege, by rejecting fair housing and other policies relating to racial integration.
Wodtke, a sociology doctoral candidate, analyzed data on racial attitudes from more than 20,000 white Americans participating in the nationally representative General Social Survey. The average study participant was calculated to be a 47-year-old white person who completed 12.9 years of education, answering six of 10 cognitive ability test questions correctly.

"More intelligent members of the dominant group are just better at legitimizing and protecting their privileged position than less intelligent members," Wodtke said. "In modern America, where blacks are mobilized to challenge racial inequality, this means that intelligent whites say — and may in fact truly believe — all the right things about racial equality in principle, but they just don't actually do anything that would eliminate the privileges to which they have become accustomed.

This “all whites are racist” meme is nothing new. I was reading that stuff back in the late sixties and seventies by people in the various black power movements and black writers. They argued that it was some sort of original sin, but unlike original sin religious-wise, whites could never atone for it. Even if you were born one hundred, two hundred, or how many years after slavery ended, if you were white, you were a racist.
I figure that God likes variety and nature favors some adaptations over others. I hate sunburns and being practical is as racist as I can get.
I find that the people who make me pay attention to "race" are usually very racist themselves and behave in ways that are detrimental to me looking favorably at them or their "race".
That sort of focus is a bit too satanic in thinking for my taste and travel plans.

According to Democrats, the “smarter whites” are all Democrats.
They once asked that we judge men and women by the content of their character and so we are. Now they are asking us to ignore the content of men and women’s character and judge them by the color of their skin.

In truth, everyone is racist, yet some can be “objectively” racist, based on information that *quantitatively* confirms their suppositions. Yes, a supposition is based on incomplete information, but that does not mean that it is incorrect.
For example, China officially has 56 ethnic groups. Of these, Han Chinese account for 91.59% of the overall Chinese population. So if you assume that a “Chinese” person is ethnically Han, 9 times out of 10 you will be correct, assuming that the Han and China’s other ethnic groups have proportionately migrated to where you are.
But talking about Chinese people is avoiding the issue, which is almost exclusively about slave-descended black Americans. I have to specify s-d black Americans, because they are culturally totally different from recent immigrant black Americans, though they are lumped together statistically.
s-d black Americans are easily the target of quantitative supposition racism, precisely because they voluntarily racially segregate themselves in many ways. For example, 98% voting for Obama.
It is not racist at all to note that “98% of black American voters voted for Obama.” Clearly that reflects racism on their part.
Likewise, according to FBI statistics, 95% of black homicides are perpetrated by other black people. And that their homicide rate per capita is enormous compared to other racial groups. Neither of those statements is racist, but from them can be supposed that black Americans are far more disposed to murderous violence than are those of other ethnic groups.
In addition, something like 1 in 4 black men are either incarcerated, on probation or parole, and that does not include ex-convicts. Nor is arrest and conviction at these levels inherently racist, because judges and juries sentence black men to prison at about the same rate no matter what race they are.
Arguments that there is something wrong with the justice system because it incarcerates so many are nonsense. There is generally equal justice before the law. What is lacking is equal obedience to the law.
No, black men do not get a pass from the social contract because they do not want to obey the law.
But from this it can be supposed, with objective racism, that black men are far more inclined to commit criminal acts. And while the majority don’t, it is not unfair that they are burdened by those who do; and by those who don’t know them, but have to suppose the possibility, for their own safety.
Mr. Wodtke will, of course, decline tenure as a sociology PhD as tenure would preserve his privileged position. In fact, he ought to decline his PhD, when it is awarded. Being a doctor is so, well, privileged. Perhaps he should decline grants from the government and NGO’s as much of that money comes from less-than-wealthy people.
He has so much opportunity to do good.

If we conceded their outrageous claim, many would still come crawling back to be “administered” (fed, clothed, housed, schooled, policed) by the whites they hate with such passion because they are a crushed, defeated people; many apparently believe in their own inferiority.

I believe that is why white libs have seen Planned Parenthood as the solution to the Civil War contraband issue; they will contracept/abort this problem out of existence, and replace it with a new underclass (predominantly Hispanic) that is less damaged/has more hope. If people can’t assimilate into the larger American culture 150 years after the Civil War, then they never will. Oddly enough, blacks were more assimilated before the “Great Society” nonsense of the late 1960s; that is what really did them in.

Yes it happens. And white people often act the same to blacks.
Everyone does it on some degree. It is simply a fact of life. When you’re at an ATM at night, I’m sure you’re more likely to let the door open for a white man than a black one.
Blacks do commit violent crime at a much higher rate than whites so our suspicion is warranted. But blacks that aren’t criminals get tired of being treated like ones. Some blacks try to get back at whites by being mean to them. There is also a huge culture of “hate whitey” for various reasons.
Race relations in America have been severely damaged by an entirely false premise that people are interchangeable; that we are all only so much biological putty to be remolded by our overseers in public office.
What the Left proposes is in the interests of no race; no family; no individual, but demagogues & scoundrels. It has already proven to be a sure formula for undermining the social order of all of us, regardless of race, creed or color.

I’ve never been racist in my life, and am still not - but Obama has stirred up the “13%” of our population who only seem to think in terms of their body color. Like Sharpton and Jackson, everything is based on body color.
