Angel Baby - Rosie & The Originals

Songwriters: Rose Hamlin

It's just like heaven Being here with you You're like an angel Too good to be true

But after all I love you i do

Angel baby My angel baby

When you are near me My heart skips a beat I can hardly stand on My own two feet

Because i love you I love you i do

Chorus: Angel baby my angel baby Ooh ooh i love you Ooh ooh i do No one can love you Like i do Ooh ooh ooh ooh Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

Please never leave me Blue and alone If you ever go Im sure you'll come back home

Because i love you I love you i do

Jimmy Durante - Young At Heart 1954

Songwriters: Carolyn Leigh, Johnny Richards Fairy tales can come true – It can happen to you If you’re young at heart. For it’s hard, you will find, To be narrow of mind If you’re young at heart. You can go to extremes With impossible schemes; You can laugh when your dreams Fall apart at the seams; And life becomes exciting with each passing day, And love is either in your heart… or on its way. Don’t you know that it’s worth Every treasure on earth To be young at heart? For, as rich as you are, It’s much better by far To be young at heart. And, if you should survive To a hundred and five, Look at all you’ll derive Just by being alive! Now, here is the best part: You have a head start If you are amongst the very young… At heart.

And, if you should survive To a hundred and five, Look at all you’ll derive Just by being alive! Now, here is the best part: You have a head start If you are amongst the very young… At heart.

Great song, but their best I think is “dedicated to the one I love”

“The Allman Brothers Band-live at the Fillmore East.

The whole darn album.”

mega freaking dittos to that my FRiend.

“statesboro blues” on that album will never be topped.

That album actually kept me sane (or passing at least) for a while back in the bad old days.

“The best version I have heard is oddly done by the Leningrad Cowboys with the Russian Army Choir.”

That is odd, especially since that song was written in response to the lefty song ‘Southern Man’ by Neil Young.

Eh, I like Neil Young but I was glad about this push back.

I’d like to know when was your fave version recorded?

Yeah, my grandad plays them from time to time. Gets all nostalgic over them and other tunes from back then. Tells me a lot of his growing up in NYC.

My Aunt and Uncle had “smoke gets in your eyes” for their wedding song. When I said to my mom that it didn’t seem like the best song for that she said: now you see how big a hit it was. And my mom was no pop music person.

I figure it had to be one of the biggest hits of all time!
