Never has the US appeared so untrustworthy, destructive, irrelevant and impotent

Full title: Never since America's founding has the US appeared so untrustworthy, destructive, irrelevant and impotent.

Aside from the carnage in Benghazi, the most enduring image from Hillary Clinton's tenure as US Secretary of State was the fake remote control she brought with her to Moscow in 2009 with the word "Reset" in misspelled Russian embossed on it.

Clinton's gimmick was meant to show that under President Barack Obama, American foreign policy would be fundamentally transformed. Since Obama and Clinton blamed much of the world's troubles on the misdeeds of their country, under their stewardship of US foreign policy, the US would reset everything. Around the globe, all bets were off.

Five years later we realize that Clinton's embarrassing gesture was not a gimmick, but a dead serious pledge. Throughout the world, the Obama administration has radically altered America's policies.

And disaster has followed. Never since America's establishment has the US has appeared so untrustworthy, destructive, irrelevant and impotent.

Consider Syria. Wednesday was the one year anniversary of Obama's pledge that the US would seek the overthrow of Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime if Assad used chemical weapons against his opponents.

Wednesday, Assad's forces used chemical weapons against civilians around Damascus. According to opposition forces, well over a thousand people were murdered.

>>SNIP<<

Clinton's reset button was played up as a gimmick. But it was a solemn oath. And it was fulfilled. And as a result, the world is a much more violent and dangerous place. The US and its allies are more threatened. The US's enemies from Moscow to Tehran to Venezuela are emboldened.

Excellent analysis, very good suggestions. Is anybody in the GOP reading?

At a risk, I say the Jews had everything to do with our state as of now.

Their voting record is far from patriotic in strengthening America.

It's a slap in the face to read a Jewish report about how screwed up we are ... and for them to offer suggestions.

IF we enacted those suggestions ... they'd vote against people wanting to enforce them.

I learned, not long ago, that the 1948 Israel is a secular state ... not a spiritual one ... and we Christians, though we pray for the Peace of Jerusalem, and support the Jews in their struggle against Ishmael ... are fooling ourselves thinking the Jews pray in like manner.

It's not appearance, it's fact.

This is what happens when people vote for someone based merely on the color of that person’s skin.

Don't confuse American Jews and Israelis. The later don't vote in the US, but they are certainly entitled to their opinions. And I think Ms. Glick has hit the nail on the head, as usual.

Add in Hillarys quote

“ We came, we saw, he died regarding Ghadafi as another example
of overboasting, and sending the wrong message.

But after all “ What difference does it make”

And to think this chipmunk faced excuse for a leader could wind up as our next president.

That is what happens when you elect the biggest shucker and jiver in history as President and install an administration of arrogant, elitist, smug, self-righteous leftists around him who hate the very nation they are supposed to represent and defend.

At thiis point, Putin would make a better President than that miserable bastard in the White House.

Everything this President and this administration does/has done make it an extremely vulnerable target.

The same failures, lies, crimes, corruption... etc. would not only spell doom for any individual Republican in office, but would mean impeachment and removal if committed by a Republican President.

Why is it that THIS President and HIS creatures are not only permitted this behavior and these lies, with their crimes smugly overlooked ...but their failures, lies and crimes are actually acclaimed as successes, truths and noble achievements?

WTF! The world IS turned up side down.

If a Republican even DREAMED of doing any of this stuff, he'd wake up blindfolded before a firing squad, without the benefit of legal representation!

His analysis is somewhat flawed in that he assumes that Assad is responsible for the chemical attack rather than it more than likely being a false flag operation by US backed and funded forces. What I don’t fully understand is why the Israeli’s are so dead set against Assad. While the guy is your typical blood thirsty dictator he has kept the peace so to speak whereas if the rebels gain power Israel will have the same problem only worse that they have with the Gaza strip and the rocket attacks going on from there. But I guess Jews just seem to have a death wish, kind of like self hating white liberals only much more intense.

Actually, if you read the Israeli newspapers, they prefer Assad over the rebels. You know, prefer the evil that you know (and know how to deal with) over the unknown evil. It is Obama's policies that are being criticized.

And that is because, depsite the wretchedness of Carter and Clinton, America has never had a President who was so untrustworthy, destructive, irrelevant and impotent.

Foreign heads of state recognize this...except when it comes to the damage he is doing here in the US, he is not irrelevant or impotent. He is a far left, anti-American, fundamtnal Islamic loving, black libertion marxist wrecking machine.

It is, indeed the responsibility of the American electorate to vote wisely, and about half of them did not.

Putin is simply doing his job as President of the Russian Federation, and the interests of US citizens are not his concern unless they coincide with the interests of the citizens of The Russian Federation. Sometimes they do, but not so often.

The one thing that Putin seems to be adept at is learning from mistakes, and that includes the mistakes of others, and historically recorded mistakes.

The world press hatred of Putin is likely based on the fact that they can't rewrite history and fool him into believing it more than anything else.

"untrustworthy, destructive, irrelevant and impotent"

This describes the Counter-Culture Movement of the 1960s and its objectives and their results, which have been achieved because of the stupidity and apathy of millions of Americans who lacked the wit to see them for what they are: Decadence.

When the spoiled brats of the men who walked into machine-gun fire on the beaches of Normandie and of the other men and women who made the USA the greatest, richest, and most just nation the world has ever known sashayed onto the polished dance floor chanting sex, drugs, and rock-and-roll, the dim-witted proclaimed a new and more enlightened age. It wasn't. It was the eruption of the abscess of Decadence.

The brats--raised in luxury, wealth, and security--lacked the wit to appreciate all the blood, sweat, and tears that their parents, grandparents, and forefathers had spent to give them and their children this country and decided to enjoy all this plenty. Look around. You'll see the results.

Or maybe, in their own inept fashion, the Obama administration has concluded that Syria and Egypt are lose/lose situation for us? That no matter who wins they’re still going to oppose the U.S. and that there isn’t a single thing in either country worth a single American life? And if Europe wants to intervene against Assad then maybe they need to fund the military forces capable of doing so?

The Israeli press may be voicing that preference, but from what I’ve seen the Israeli military/government seems to be supporting the rebels. Also, as I pointed out the author make the mistake of assuming that Assad was the one using chemical weapons which provides support for the US to intervene on the part of the rebels. So while the author criticizes the Obama administrations handling of this she seems to be saying that the intent was still a good idea only that it was handled poorly. When instead the approach should have been that the US made a big mistake invading Iraq and repeating that mistake in Syria will only lead to a more unstable situation in the ME.

Obama has repeatedly said what he wanted to accomplish as president.
Those surprised at what he has done was not paying attention or put their own meaning to his words.
