Now that is what the sheriff and police departments really do best. Clean up the mess.

I hope the delivery guy doesn’t lose his job now...but at least he’s alive to lose it

Yay for the pizza Driver!

It's one of the most dangerous jobs around.

May everyone who tries to rob a pizzaman die in the same fashion.

Score another point for civilization!

“At that point the delivery man, who had a weapon in his vehicle, pulled his firearm, shooting the robber one time and at this point the robber is deceased.”

Sounds like everything from “that point” to “this point” went well.

Excellent report.

So, occurred at a Day’s Inn off I-95.....boy there’s a place a pizza delivery guy must hate.

The article does not mention race at all so we can assume with high probability the dead perp was black or an illegal.

Memo to this pizza driver: If you leave this job to become a rocket scientist, my best to you. If you remain in this job, make a note that after you deliver a pizza at midnight don't return to your vehicle in a dark, deserted parking lot in the low-rent district, and don't sit down and start counting your money and tips while waiting for your next delivery call. End of memo.

Like everyone else, I too love a happy ending. However....there are too many details missing for me before I throw confetti. 1) Driver is in his car, counting his bucks, and I’m guessing since it’s midnite the dome light is on for all in the immediate vicinity to see what he is doing. That’s not smart. 2) Is the motor running? If so, why didn’t the driver just drive away? I have had my carry permit for quite a few years, and thank God I have not had to shoot anyone. A large part of my training is “situational awareness” whereby I win every gunfight I don’t get into. And when in my car, if I see something that tingles the spidey sense, I drive away and call it in. I’m not saying the victim didn’t have every right to defend himself against a knife wielding robber who threatened his life. I’m just saying there are too many unknowns for me to fire any “hooray” shots in the air. Perhaps the driver saved the innocent life that this mutt would have taken next week, only God knows. Lastly, from similar stories I’ve seen before Dominos will probably fire the driver. It forbids delivery people from carrying.

Aw, c’mon. I’ll bet the pizza driver was stalking the poor perp. I sure hope the pizza guy isn’t a white hispanic; if so, he is toast.

Updated story from CF News 13
Investigators say a Brevard County pizza delivery man took action into his own hands -- shooting and killing a would-be robber.

Investigators said Byron Park, a Domino's employee, had just delivered a pizza to one of the rooms at the Days Inn off US-192 near Interstate 95.

Park, 54, went back to his car, sat down and starting counting his money and tip, waiting for his next call for a delivery.

That’s when investigators said 32-year-old Fredrick Kelly Jr. approached him with a knife, demanding money and threatening to kill him.

Park pulled out his firearm and fired once toward Kelly, who was struck and pronounced dead at the scene.

"Preliminary evidence in the case demonstrates that the intended victim of the robbery acted in self-defense while being robbed by a violent criminal who was armed with a knife," said Sheriff Wayne Ivey. "The suspect in this investigation was released from prison in 2009, after serving a reduced sentence for similar violent crimes.”

Investigators said Kelly had a lengthy violent criminal history, which included armed robbery, false imprisonment and aggravated battery.

The hotel's general manager said the company has no comment.

It took a while to get the lynch Zimmerman mob assembled. Does the victim have a Jewish sounding surname? Has Jesse, Al, Crump , Governor Scott, Pam Bondi, or Angela Corey been notified yet?

CCW has nothing to do with this incident. ANYONE can carry a loaded firearm in a vehicle in Florida. A CCW permit is not needed.
