DUBLIN, N.H. If Texas senior senator, John Cornyn, was hoping for an endorsement from Texas junior senator, Ted Cruz, he can forget it.
Cruz said Friday afternoon hes staying neutral as Cornyn seeks re-election next year.
Sen. Cornyn is a good man. He's friend. He and I have worked side by side on a great many issues fighting for Texas, fighting for conservative principles, he said when asked about Cornyns campaign at a New Hampshire GOP fund-raiser. It is likely that I am going to stay out of incumbent primaries across the country, either supporting incumbents or opposing incumbents.
Cruz, 42, is a tea party favorite who toppled the establishment candidate, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, in a hotly contested GOP Senate primary last year. Cornyn remained neutral in that race for an open seat, as did many statewide Republican officials.
Neutrality when it comes to the reelection of the No. 2 Republican in the Senate Cornyn serves as deputy minority leader is dramatically different. In Kentucky, tea party Sen. Rand Paul has enthusiastically promoted the reelection of Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, to the dismay of some tea party activists.
Cornyn shrugged off the snub.
Senator Cruz has been a great addition to the US Senate and I have enjoyed working with him, fighting for Texas and conservative principles, he said through an aide, told of Cruzs comments. He and I agree that the only endorsements that matter are those of the Texas voters and I look forward to earning their vote in 2014.
This wasnt the first such incident.
In February 2012, in the midst of the Texas primary, Cruz declined to endorse Cornyns Senate GOP leadership bid, saying he wanted to see how many constitutional conservatives held seats when the contest took place that fall.

Good for him.
I believe there is a missing person report out on him. I have been looking for a town hall anywhere near Central Texas and have not heard of one...
May he be Tea Partied...
There is a reason Ted is withholding an endorsement...
BTW, Ted is all over this state during the break...
Cornyn has rejected the idea of defunding Obamacare.
Cornyn is a part of the Romney-Rove-Soros axis.
Poor John. He’s been trying so hard to mimic Ted these last few weeks. I guess it didn’t fool anyone.
I suspect Soros has been stuffing envelopes and couriering them to targeted politicians to sway their “opinions” the past 5 years. Haven’t seen this many politicians flip on issues ever in my lifetime.
He lost me when he supported Specter.
Wait. When Cornyn chose to stay neutral, that was OK. But when Cruz decides to return the favor and stay neutral, it's called a "snub." Nope, no bias there!
As a principle, non-endorsing may be wise but, in practice, it can be damaging for one’s career. Eventually, guys like Cruz and Paul have to begin building some concensus within their ranks or they will always be on the outside and their ideas largely ignored.
Besides, I don't think preserving his career at all costs is important to Cruz, as it is to most of the GOP-E.

With his non-endorsement Ted Cruz has officially burned his bridges with the Republican establishment.
This is good. Impressive even.
Imagine that....a GOP senator who is not a hypocrite. Truly, Sen. Cruz is one of a kind.
Sorry I disagree agree with that. It was very disappointing that Rand Paul endorsed Mitch McConnell and stated he would not back a Tea Party challenge to McConnell. That could very well result in McConnell staying right where he is for another 6 years. Thank you Ted Cruz for not doing the same with regard to Cornyn.
Sorry meant to address OrangeHoof

Man, the establishment is going to be pissed at Cruz even more. Good!
Ted Cruz is entirely a self made man.
Rand Paul rode into town on his father’s horse.
No they don't. In the Senate, you've got RINOs who lost primaries but kept their seat with sleazy third party runs. You've got the situation where Flake, Ayotte, and Rubio were looking to build alliances, and ended up traitoring us. Cruz, Paul, and others who agree with them would do best articulating their wisdom and vision to save the US, and thus help fellow constitutional conservatives get elected.
As far as I'm concerned the RINO globalist ptb are worse than the dems. They were ALL elected because people wanted a conservative alternative. When they start compromising-selling out, they often lose the next election. Scott Brown and Rick Santorum did.
If the nation's going down anyway, I'd rather it be with dems in power than with RINOs who don't stick to the principles they campaign on.
What has been happening, and is still happening, is stuff in fiction Politiko stories...
Sadly, none of this is fiction.. and even sadder still, is it took this mess that is currently happening to backhand some of the deniers (low info voters) for them to see that this is not only happening in fiction books :/
Even MORE sad, is that many of us tried to warn the low info voters before the 2008 elections that this was about to go into high gear mode for them, as a matter of fact, it is faster than even I expected.
This IS the takeover of the USA.. front and center.. it is a coup d’état on our freedom.
Call me a conspiracy nut if you like, but the pieces are falling into place :/
