Dear DonnyofPismo,

You don’t have a clue, do you?

You have NO clue how this process works, yet you fearlessly spout crap.

Let’s get one thing into your senseless noggin: what is being talked of here is NOT a Constitutional Convention. Until you get that straight, you are literally out of your depth, Donnie.

Dear Georgia Girl. Perhaps you need to read it again.

This is NOT a Constitutional Convention. And the 10th hasn’t worked for at least a century. You are naive to think its about to start working now.

Not only will it NEVER HAPPEN. It would be hijacked by the Left and attended by the cowardly GOP. You think it’s bad now? It would be 100x worse. Terrible idea.

I agreed with you, and took a sarcastic cut at those who think electing conservatives will save our republic.

Running out and ammending the constitution at every turn is not the answer.

LOL!! One Convention of the States in over two hundred years is hardly "at every turn," now is it? And maybe you ought to learn how to spell "amending" the Constitution before you go pontificating about it.

Obama voters will dominate it just like everything else.

Tonight. Begin with a letter to your state assemblyman.

I just don’t see how new rules will make things better. Both parties are ignoring the rules we have now. Why would they obey new rules? I think the issue is more about busting our tails to get true conservatives in office. But then there’s voter fraud . . .

In retrospect, I wasn’t entirely clear. A little too subtle.

We should at least exhaust all options before the grand finally. Including session.

Obama voters will dominate it just like everything else.

You are precisely wrong. This process is one that those low-information voters cannot possibly dominate.

Why not? Demographics; this process will not be driven by the statists, it will be driven by the anti-statists.

“...Begin with a letter to your state assemblyman...”
-
O.K.,
I have written letters to my state representative, and my state senator, and even to my governor,
so, now what?

From hearing folks on talk radio and here on FR,
one of the FIRST things that needs to happen
is to educate people on exactly what
an “Article V State’s Convention to Propose Amendments” is.
Too many people just don’t get it.

Okay, fair question.

My post described political Armageddon, a last chance to peacefully save a wounded republic. The amendments I support are generally like those Mark Levin has proposed. They will remove lots of power from the consolidated government and send it back where it belongs, with the states.

An Article V amendment convention does an end run around congress/Obama/scotus.

Mark's amendments mean term limits for congress and scotus, a senate appointed by state legislatures, congressional override of scotus decisions, limits on spending, effective congressional power over the administrative state, voting integrity, revamping of the commerce power, state nullification of congressional statutes . . .

These are structural changes which will leave the statists howling.

Maybe its because conservatives do a lot of useless talking about amending the constitution whenever public policy doesn't go their way. Examples: Abortion, Gay marriage, Balanced budgets. ect..

They can't be bothered to fight the ideological battles so they think passing a new amendment will get society to behave the way they want it to.

Its very lazy, because by relying on amendments what they are actually saying is that they want government to police itself rather than doing the heavy lifting to force government to behave itself (you know like voting Boehner and all the other uses republicans out)

But just like they never get around to voting out the RINOs, They also never get around to passing any ammendments.

Its all useless talk all the time

I have no worries about a runaway convention.

Conservatives are just flapping their gums as usual and they'll all line up to vote for Jebby Bush in 2016

Perhaps all can be done concurrently. My state assemblyman is not a very bright light, nor all that conservative. It will take time.
