Defense Department Teaching Documents Suggest Mainstream Conservative Views “Extremist”
Judicial Watch ^ | 8/22/2013

Posted on 08/25/2013 3:28:54 AM PDT by markomalley

Judicial Watch announced today that it has obtained educational materials from the Department of Defense (DOD) depicting conservative organizations as “hate groups” and advising students to be aware that “many extremists will talk of individual liberties, states’ rights, and how to make the world a better place.” The documents repeatedly cite the leftwing Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) as a resource for identifying “hate groups.”

Judicial Watch obtained the documents in a response to a Freedom of Information Act request (FOIA) filed on April 8, 2013. The FOIA requested “Any and all records concerning, regarding, or related to the preparation and presentation of training materials on hate groups or hate crimes distributed or used by the Air Force.” Included in the 133 pages of lesson plans and PowerPoint slides provided by the Air Force is a January 2013 Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute “student guide” entitled “Extremism.”  The document says that it is “for training purposes only” and “do not use on the job.” Highlights include:

In April 2013, following a terrorist shooting at the Family Research Council (FRC) headquarters that occurred in August 2012, Judicial Watch filed multiple FOIA requests to determine what, if any, influence SPLC’s branding of hate groups had on government agencies. On its website, the SPLC has depicted FRC as a “hate group,” along with other such mainstream conservative organizations as the American Family Association, Concerned Women for America, and Coral Ridge Ministries. At the time of the shooting, FRC president Tony Perkins accused the SPLC of sparking the shooting, saying the shooter “was given a license to shoot … by organizations like the Southern Poverty Law Center.”

Though the document released today by Judicial Watch was obtained from the Air Force, it originated in a DOD office and is, therefore. thought likely to be used in other agency components.

“The Obama administration has a nasty habit of equating basic conservative values with terrorism.  And now, in a document full of claptrap, its Defense Department suggests that the Founding Fathers, and many conservative Americans, would not be welcome in today’s military,” said Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton.  “And it is striking that some the language in this new document echoes the IRS targeting language of conservative and Tea Party investigations.  After reviewing this document, one can’t help but worry for the future and morale of our nation’s armed forces.”

Though from the 22d, I couldn't find the actual release from Judicial Watch on the site...apologies if it was posted already.

The FOIAd documents are at the links within the article.

If conservatives would campaign on stuff like this they would get people who have given up on politics coming out of the woodwork to support them.

I will never understand why they don’t. I understand why the GOP doesn’t. They are just as facist in their way as the libs are. But it sorta makes sense to campaign AGAINST the things your opponents support.

Mmmmmm........I can think of only one extremist group. The best financed, most organized hate group ----
w/ numerous divisions nationwide: the Democrat party that has an actual president as its titular head.

==============================================================================

DESCRIBES THE DEMS TO A TEE The US govt describes extremist hate groups " as groups who advocate supremacist causes based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or national origin; or otherwise engages in activities to illegally deprive individuals or groups of their civil rights."

Listing the ways Democrat---and their president---advocate extremist supremacist issues and causes based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or national origin; or otherwise illegally deprive individuals or groups of their civil rights....would take weeks--MONTHS---and miles of bandwidth.

No surprise here.

Vote a racist, black, commie, muslim illegal alien into the presidency, have him staff his cabinet with racist, ultra left wing racists, commies and socialists and this is what you get.

Okay, so what Obama’s DOD is saying is that our founding fathers were extremists. Well then, ‘m a conservative “extremist” and a patriot. I’m good with that.

Anyone who joins the service at this time is either a leftists radical, faggot, or oblivious to politics

GREAT!!! More written proof of the O'Bunghole Administration's central role in the "IRS 'I'se Misbehavin!'" scandal that rocked D.C. over the summer amid and despite The Administration's clearly too-loud protestations of "having no direct knowledge" of any such activities."

Next thing you know, our smelly, fly-strewn fag (you know, O'Bunghole!) of a prezza-shiss-nizz-ident will claim that those documents were prepeared by the White Hut Legal Corps, and are thus "covered by 'Executive Privilege'."

Stupid fag colostomy bag reject!

If one attempts to connect some dots will he be accused of paranoia?

1. The cult of personality about Obama which he has certainly done nothing to discourage. Remember the Orwellian videos on YouTube of the children chanting Obama songs, some of these kids in quasi military uniforms and formations?

2. The publications of homeland security made early in the Obama administration defining potential terrorists as virtually anything conservative, with legal implications under the Patriot Act..

3. The public statements of Barack Obama that he intended to create a civilian military force to equal our military. Has he moved forward with this?

4. The acquisition by the federal government of so much ammunition that it emptied the shelves and made it scarce for law-abiding civilians to acquire ammunition.

5. Operation Fast and Furious which probably was conceived as a plot to further gun grabbing as and when guns illegally sold to Mexican drug lords provided the excuse for gun grabbing in America by this administration.

6. The ongoing campaign by this administration to deprive Americans of access to firearms.

7. The acquisition of armored vehicles and military weapons by homeland security and the distribution of same throughout the United States to local law enforcement equipping them as though they were military rather than police.

8. The data mining of the NSA concerning communications of all Americans, the corruption of the Internal Revenue Service to attack political enemies, the corruption of other agencies of the federal government for the same purpose, the extraordinary use of advanced data mining technology by the Obama campaign to win the election of 2012. Have any of the firewalls been broken (we know that some have, for example the IRS has communicated with other agencies to plague conservatives), is the administration technologically prepared to move swiftly in a New Night of the Long knives against Americans?

I would be grateful for contribution of other FReepers with other dots that might be connected.

What Obama is doing doesn’t shock me. What shocks me is there are so many federal and state employees who seem to be going right along with his plan instead of trying to stop what he is doing to America. Why is their loyalty to Obama and not their country?

This stuff was produced by the civilians who choose to work in “equal opportunity” for the Air Force. They are about as far from the pointy end of the spear as it is possible to go and still have anything with “Defense” on your paycheck.

I overhead a group of young Army officers out at lunch last week, probably taking a break from getting ready to do some kind of intake or orientation work at West Point. They were about as liberal as the rec room of a frat house at Georgia Tech or Texas A&M — i.e., zero percent liberal. I think we’re probably okay when it comes to the ideology of the people who actually defend us.

Since they labeled the Founders “extremist”, I'd say we're in darn good company!

Why is their loyalty to Obama and not their country?

Because they've been brainwashed to believe the government IS 'their country'.

Obama’s DOD is saying is that our founding fathers were extremists.

They were, of course, in their time, extremists and traitors.

But they won, so that whole "why doth treason never prosper?" bit kicked in.

Had they lost they'd still be viewed as extremists and traitors. Same for the Confederates, I guess, in reverse.

The Founders led what is still the most extreme revolution in world history. Most if not all revolutions before and since were fought over which group of the people would invest itself with the power to push the rest of the people around. Only our Revolution was fought with the notion of putting the people themselves in charge of their own lives and government. Still an utterly radical notion, as our own government recognizes in this document.
