Think it’s odd that a 30-year-old male Hong Kong national punched a 78-year-old female abortion protestor in the back, then calmly walked down the street without uttering a word?
Just wait until you watch the video of what happened after the assault in Iowa City.
But first, let’s review what we know so far.
Man Chun John Ma stands 6-feet 1-inches and weighs 200 pounds, hails from Hong Kong, and is a graduate student in the genetics program at the University of Iowa.
According to Donna Holman, she was holding an anti-abortion sign near a Planned Parenthood office on Wednesday morning when the man approached her from behind and struck her in the shoulder.
The blow knocked her forward, Holman said, causing her to drop literature she’d been holding, and Ma continued walking down the street, never saying a thing.
Holman immediately activated her walkie-talkie and called her husband Dan, who was protesting about two blocks away. Dan Holman turned on his video camera and tracked down Ma, filming his verbal confrontation with the remarkably placid perp until police arrived.
When a winded Holman asks Ma if he hit is wife, Ma replies on camera, “Sorry about that…I know I’m in trouble.” Later he admits to the arresting officer, “I did punch her…that was probably wrong.”

Obviously, he acted like a jerk by punching her. However, given today's diminished standards, it's refreshing to hear that the guy admitted his guilt instead of stonewalling. He could have said he never laid a hand on her and accused them of being racist for suggesting that he did, and it would literally have become he said, she said.

The study of genetics does not require dead babies or aborted children.
He punched the woman because he is has been indoctrinated by the left and as a result has become a common, garden variety butthole. Or maybe he was born a butthole.
His field of study has nothing to do with it.
Holman did the right thing. No point getting brought up on charges. Besides, this was a purely gratuitous punch meant to annoy, not a game of Knockout King. This is why the perp was booked on a misdemeanor assault charge rather than ag assault. Of course, if this were to be settled without any taxpayer expense (i.e. resort to the court system), I'd agree that one to the perp's groin is an appropriate resolution. Heck, given the kind of trouble he's in (potential misdemeanor conviction), I think he'd grit his teeth and brace for a kick in the nuts, if that would erase all the follow-on repercussions.

It seems this guy comes from China. It would not be unusual for him to dislike pro-lifers. He may have never seen a pro-lifer over there. All of the pro-lifers have succumbed to the one child policy and have been have all been aborted.

Or maybe he’s used to Chinese cops who beat confessions out of suspects, and decided to come clean while he still had all of his fingers and teeth.
