I completely agree... videos and concert announcements were all the MTV offered and that was all that was needed.
Last night I was searching youtube for Belinda Carlisle videos and came across a brand new one 2013 ‘Sun’ that she says was her son's idea. Recall Go-Gos ‘Our Lips are Sealed’ or her single ‘Mad about You’.

In it she sounds much like herself in mid 1980s even though you can see she is now over 50, and it brought back memories of MTV at that time, and general memories of those days
