Wisconsin schools introduce masturbation in fourth grade, everything else by sixth

MADISON – Parents, do you know your elementary school’s masturbation education policy?

OLD ENOUGH?: Some Wisconsin school districts have authorized sexual education, including topics such as masturbation, at elementary schools.

OLD ENOUGH?: Some Wisconsin school districts have authorized sexual education, including topics such as masturbation, at elementary schools.

The Oak Creek School District developed a booklet for parents of elementary students to help them “understand how staff and outside resource people will handle these sensitive topics.”

Sensitive topics, indeed.

The elementary school booklet covers masturbation, sexual intercourse, sexual orientation, abortion and contraception.

The booklet is a complement to the Human Growth and Development curriculum that takes various forms throughout public school districts across the state.

It’s unclear how prevalent the Human Growth and Development curriculum is throughout the state. However, a 2012 law changed several requirements of school districts that do offer Human Growth and Development.

Those changes include:

Other topics, such as masturbation, are open to the school board’s discretion.

In Oak Creek, parents can pick up the booklet at school during registration, according to Sara Burmeister, the school district superintendent. Parents also are sent letters before specific topics are taught and can opt their children out of the curriculum, though Burmeister says that rarely happens.

School boards, too, can opt not to offer Human Growth and Development.

When it comes to a grade-schooler’s questions about masturbation, staff will first define the term “the stimulation of one’s own genitals for the purpose of achieving sexual pleasure.”

Staff, though, are advised not to answer questions of personal sexual experience.

The handbook also directs staff to explain that some people masturbate and some do not. And encourages staff to “help students understand that attitudes toward masturbation may be a strong part of family values and beliefs and opinions often vary.”

Students, according to the handbook, will “be encouraged to talk to parents in order to help them develop their own values and beliefs about masturbation.”

Burmeister said the language in the booklet doesn’t mean masturbation will be discussed with or taught to students of any grade level. Staff can decide whether they should answer a child’s questions on masturbation and other sensitive topics.

“All it does is say this is how we define these terms at the appropriate grade level when it comes up,” she said. “So parents will know if their kid asks ‘What is this?’ parents will know how our committee defines the terms as we would use them in the schools. Sometimes kids are too young and you can say to them, and I know I did with my kids, ‘That’s something you don’t have to worry about now.’”

“We are more of a conservative community,” she said.

In the McFarland School District, in addition to similar policies for discussing masturbation, an objective for third graders is to discuss suicide.

A sixth-grade objective is to “define sexual intercourse, including oral and anal intercourse.”

McFarland school officials did not return calls from Wisconsin Reporter.

How much discretion should elementary schools and school boards have regarding teaching about sexually related topics?

Is this something the schools should teach, or would you prefer the alternative: “Go ask your parents”?

Wow. The mind reels. Given that these are government schools we’re talking about, after 12 plus years are they graduating seniors who are unable to masturbate in the same way they can’t read or do basic math?

Anal sodomy used to be a crime and thus it should still be.... Plus it’s hard to imagine how anyone could “like” it unless they are drunk, drugged, or a pervert.

Well, it's never been my thing, but I've been with some women who liked it.

People like lots of things that are unhealthy, like eating too much bacon, for example. Yet I'm sure you wouldn't advocate making that a crime, although I expect that fascist nanny-stator Mayor Bloomberg will probably get around to trying that sooner or later.

It's one thing to oppose the left-wing totalitarian gay agenda and the politically correct sexualization of our culture, as I do.

But let's not be advocating making private acts a crime just because they gross you out, even if they're unhealthy. And if they're sins, let God pass that judgment in the hereafter.

Every state in the country had laws against sodomy almost the entire history of our country. The military uniform code of justice had a law against sodomy until faggots were allowed in.

It has nothing to do with my digust; it has to to with moral absolutes. Naturally hedonists and liberaltarians like to compare those with moral views to be fascist, taliban and so on.

Welcome to the Brave New Babylon - you like it, you can have it. Thanks to the rejection of morality, natural law, personal responsibility and cowardice, we are on the edge of a precipice and are teetering..

Was America a greater nation when sodomy was illegal? Were our children better educated when a teacher caught in the act of homosexuality was fired? Were we more prosperous? Were we more secure? WERE WE MORE FREE as Americans before you and your liberaltarian ideals opened the door for rampant faggotry in our culture? How about our armed forces? With women and queers openly serving, are we better off?

I could go on and on and on with questions that have obvious answers. But what I can’t do is convince you America was better off just 40-50 years ago when our laws and our culture was “homophobic”.

Now’s your chance to tell me that you would never want to return to such a “nanny state” with its totalitarian and authoritative hard core hitler-like values.

We’re so much better off now, right? With the government not sticking its nose in our bedrooms, right?

There is no question that 40-50 years ago America was infinitely better off culturally, politically and economically than we are today. But it is absurd to say that the reason for our decline was that we stopped throwing homosexuals in jail.

We stopped making black people sit in the back of the bus too. Is that the reason we’re so much worse off today?

There are so many reasons I can point to for our decline, and all of them have to do with the fact that our nation abandoned its core Constitutional concepts of human rights, political liberty, limited government and individual self-reliance, and adopted the hideous inhumanity of Progressive social-engineering Utopianism which has eaten out our substance and turned us all into vassals of an utterly corrupt, all-powerful and incompetent kleptocratic oligarchy.

Who does what to whom behind the privacy of closed doors doesn’t even enter into the picture.

However, I will agree that the disgusting, crude and overtly political sexualization of our culture, and the abandonment of common decency and propriety, have greased the tracks of our downward slide.

Agree,

“Government sponsored child abuse.”

If you showed this brochure printed for 6th graders around in a public park to anyone under 18, we’d end up in jail and put on the sex offender list. But, the teachers, school administrators and state school superintendent do it and call it education. Parents should be the ones who introduce information on this subject to their children, not the minions of big government.

“Who does what to whom behind the privacy of closed doors doesn’t even enter into the picture.”

That might be true if only it stayed behind closed doors. Part of what drives the sexually addicted toward a satisfaction they never quite achieve is exhibitionism. We’ve lost our moral compass.

Absolutely! This purpose of P.S.666 and any others with such curricula is to introduce the students to grave sin and to alienate the students from God's rules and from their genuine nature as human beings.

I would bet my bottom dollar that this propaganda for perversion and for the destruction of innocence is spreading as we write all too widely in private education as well influenced by SIECUS and NEA and AFT and now "Core Curriculum."

Homeschooling is the only certain way to avoid this abomination. If homeschooling is not possible, then very carefully chosen private religious schools and constant scrutiny of what is taught there.

As a lifelong Catholic, I regret that I must say that parochial education is increasingly influenced by the evil "standards" of government schools. If one chooses parochial schools, special scrutiny is in order and required on an ongoing basis.

Your many wise posts on the subject of homeschooling are the gold standard here. If a decent family has the time resources to homeschool, there is no substitute. If the resources seem lacking, the parents should examine their lifestyle and try to slash what are unnecessary extras because the moral and educational foundation of their precious children is far more important than vacations, new cars, etc.

God bless you and yours.

This is why the German homeschooling family came to the United States because of this disgusting sex education in the German schools.

There is definately going to be a sexualized atmosphere in the schools with sexual harassment. Leave it to the libs to create new problems and then try to find a solution for it.
