lol, both them cams have been down for a day. the san fransisco one is live on the Bay Bridge construction.

USGS combined the two again. One, 7.0.

I looked on the Pasadena helicorders to watch the waves come in, but that isn’t LIVE.

It’s amazing to see a quake happen and compare the theoretical wave times to the time it is recorded somewhere else in the world.

I am a lifelong resident of North East Los Angeles ( 72 years) and have had a keen interest in quakes.
I’ve felt the Tehachapi, Landers, Northridge, Whittier Big Bear...et all since 1941.
When I was introduced to the ABC Earthquake CAM I had no idea how fascinating it would be to watch a live quake in action.

I have learned how to judge the distance by the graph intensity.
We actually watched and felt one at the same time some months ago.

Interesting side note. Daughter and family live in Santa Barbara. About two months ago I watched a 4.2 near Goleta and realized she must of felt it. Sure enough the phone rings and I told her when I heard her voice ...” It’s a 4.2 sweetie.”!! LOL ..my family know to call and inquire of the earthquake addicted mom!

I just recently learned that there are MANY that watch the ABC So.Calif.CAM faithfully. I watch the USGS site that is reloaded every minute plus a world wide link.
I also enjoy a forum, although it isn’t as active as it used to be.
....and no I don’t know a lot about quakes! LOL
Just learn as I go and observe.
Did you say there is a live CAM in San Francisco?

If they ever redirect it back to the seismograph. The scenery is pretty. Never been on the coast of Cali above LA.

lol, you are right. :)

Here in AZ it’s MST.
I remember we did daylight time for one summer.
I thought it was cool that the pool was open until 10:00 and the sun had just gone down.
I was a kid, what did I know?
Next summer, no dice.

Oh gee whiz, the eco freaks want this stopped, earthquakes are ruining our fragile planet, along with volcanoes, avalanches, tidal waves, floods, sinkholes that all are man made disasters, probably caused by burning coal to keep warm during a blizzard.....s/

Man couldn't ruin this planet if they tried...mother nature is a nasty betch. Flash floods, lightening fires and probably more that I forgot about....and we all exhale co2 that is going to destroy us all..its very dangerous. This planet is a tough place to live. Its not some fragile planet as we are reminded periodically. I think I need some wake up coffee, just got out of bed and am not fully awake yet,

lol at the coffee. I believe you are correct granny. Man can not stop nor is responsible for the life cycle of planet Earth.
