Is Syria a real problem or just the latest phony scandal?

Slow Down In a rush to start a military strike against Syria, the Nobel Peace prize recipient is being told to slow down by the UN and European countries. Obama’s request for the assistance of old allies in his mad scramble to protect al Qaeda-led rebels from the Syrian Regime was soundly rejected by Britain. Valerie Jarrett must have demanded Obama strike Assad immediately. After all, the rebellion is being influenced by the Mo-Bros with Saudi oil money. When you read anything that says Brotherhood fighters it actually means al Qaeda.

Chemical attack On August 21st, chemical weapons were used against the civilian population in the Damascus area, killing at least 350. The rebels and the Kenyan Muslim blame the al-Assad regime and the Syrian Government blames the rebels. At the time of this writing, no proof has been presented as to who deployed the chemical agent. UN inspectors will report their findings to Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. The British and the French are telling Obama to wait until the UN weapons inspectors report before taking any military action. Obama’s White House took the allies support for granted, as he had during the Muslim Brotherhood-led Libyan effort.

Arrogance Secretary of State John Kerry openly accused the Syrian government of using chemical weapons without any evidence what-so-ever and went on to accuse the regime of tying to interfere with UN weapon inspectors by claiming they had something to hide. The Syrians could take a lesson from Kerry on how to hide a Yacht from his home state tax collectors. Obama believes that he can unilaterally strike Syria without a UN Resolution or support from America’s allies–the very thing he accused the Bush Administration of doing before sending troops to invade Iraq. The Russians and the Chinese are warning Obama not to intervene in Syria. The UN is telling the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate to wait on a diplomatic solution. (2)

Wag the Dog This is the distraction the Obama Administration dearly needed. The chemical attack has redirected the public’s attention away from the various calumnies dogging the White House; the Benghazi, IRS and NSA problems for example. As long as Democrats can demonize Syria they can help the American public forget about these “phony” difficulties which have been plaguing the credibility of the Regime. Of course, it would work better if more voters actually cared about these issues. Maybe it’s because Jon Stewart isn’t talking about them. And that just begs the question: Who is the Hollywood director directing this latest DC, action-adventure?

Just another dirty, filthy Obama scandal. The moron equates leadership will the indiscriminate firing of missiles at asprin factories and hambuger joints. He draws a red line in the sand because he's colorblind on top of all his other deficiencies.

Hey Congress! Get off your dead asses and impeach this cretinous wanker.

Our elected representatives have but one goal. Re-election. Get elected poor (like the hillbilly Clintons), get rich in office. Ignore the constitution. Lie, cheat, steal, but get re-elected. Nothing else matters. It will not change until the average voter wakes up.

Wag the dog is plausible, but it assumes that everyone will rally behind the troops and the CIC. I’ve heard public surveys are running something like 4:1 against a Syrian mis-adventure. It might not have the desired effect, even if there are no outsize repercussions.

Obama killed more than this Chemical attack with Fast and Furious.
Where was the “Love” then?

Corruption from the Oval Office all the way down to the local school boards. It’s all about how much can be stolen from tax payers - even if the money has to be borrowed from China or Juarez. Obama has to save face and/or divert attention. Wonder what his approval rating is now?

It’s another attempt by Brother Obama, peace be upon him, to help the radical muzzies take over yet another country. Why have one Iran when you can have 4? Like my cousin said well before Obama was ever “elected”: “When it comes to Islamo terrorists, Republicans want to fight them. Democrats want to make them President.” And lo and behold: That’s just what they did.

Syria is a manufactured “crisis”. Why now, why there? There are surely many more abuses of human rights elsewhere, and even some in which there is a small degree of protecting the interests of Americans and the United States.

NO US INTERESTS ARE INVOLVED IN SYRIA!!! Muslims are killing other Muslims in a most satisfactory way, much like the border conflict between Saddam Hussein and the Islamic Republic of Iran, for years, before Saddam rather unwisely tried to extend his territorial boundaries into Kuwait. But even while Iran and Iraq were blasting away at each other, the oil still continued to flow out into international commerce.

Syria does not produce, or ship out, a significant amount of petroleum, but the engagement there is most satisfactorily using up the resources in terms of available cash and bodies of martyrs for the “cause” of establishing the Worldwide Caliphate. That there is simultaneously another engagement going on in Egypt and a running guerrilla action continuing in Libya, merely keeps their attention away from the one goal that matters most to ALL Islamic jihadists - the obliteration of Israel and driving all the Jews into the sea.

Bush spent over a year to get a diplomatic solution and was mocked constantly for rushing to war. Obama couldn’t even wait a week and he’s rushing to war

What a useless Congress America has,
composed of greedy, self-serving traitors.

As America has been run into the ground, with incidence
of treason after treason (and with NO documentation to
begin with, except evidence of obvious fraud),
the greedy Congressional pigs have gotten richer,
have made THEMSELVES exempt from their tyrannical laws,
and have ignored their repeated condonation of crucifixions,
beheadings, bombings, rapes, Church burnings,
cannibalism, and even Nun parades.

Assuming someone was in Assad regime that was responsible. Maybe Assad didn’t know about it and willing to turn over those responsible to face trial. Shouldn’t we at least try that before bombing the country

I really don’t know what got the rebels started. Other than al Qaeda and the muslim brotherhood trying to overthrow the government.

I don’t understand why we need to finish the job for them.

I think it’s a phony war to distract from supposed phony scandals. He knows the S will HTF when congress returns and committees reconvene. Come October, he will be in deep doo-doo.

"Bush spent over a year to get a diplomatic solution and was mocked constantly for rushing to war. Obama couldn’t even wait a week and he’s rushing to war"

Amazing how people can twist facts when they don't like someone.

It's a real study in human nature...this new war mongering crowd.

This entire fiasco makes so many people in the Dem camp look like complete frauds....but most Freepers already knew that.

This is absolutely Wag the Dog”. It is all about changing the headlines. Those phony scandals just wont go away.

At this point it is starting to look like the dog doesn't want to be wagged.

Maybe some front page photos of the O making out with Crist Christy on the beach will work.

Note to Barak, when you go to wag the dog, make sure
it’s his tail you grab, not his d**K.
