(How do you know Rick Perry’s lying? Well, you know the joke. Watch his lips move and see who he remind you of.) They say first impressions are lasting ones. And if you’ve been following my comments on the potential 2012 Republicans presidential field, you know that my first impression of most of them is that they are either boobs or frauds. There is one contender who does not meet that definition. Texas Congressman Ron Paul is neither a boob nor a fraud. He’s the only Republican in the field who has been a consistent adherent to the constitution during his entire political...

As a Ph.D. Islamologist and Arabist I really hate to say this, but I'll say it anyway: 9/11 had nothing to do with Islam. The war on terror is as phony as the latest Osama bin Laden tape. It's a tough thing to admit because I know on which side my bread is buttered and dropping Islam from the 9/11 equation is dropping my slice of bread butter-side-down. The myth that 9/11 had something to do with Muslims has poured millions, if not billions, into Arabic and Islamic studies. I finished my Ph.D. last year, so all I have to...

Republican Congressman Ron Paul may be Julian Assange’s most loyal supporter in Congress. Visiting Fox Business’ Freedom Watch– a program on which Assange has been welcome several times– Rep. Paul went to bat for the Wikileaker in the middle of condemning the secrecy of the Federal Reserve, and made a little request of his own: “every conversation of the last ten years with the Federal Reserve people.” Chop, chop, Assange! Rep. Paul, who is also a regular guest on the program, chatted for some time with the injustices of having a “secret government” like the Federal Reserve with Judge Andrew...

Well, at least he's consistent. Consistently nutty, that is: "In a free society we're supposed to know the truth," Paul said. "In a society where truth becomes treason, then we're in big trouble. And now, people who are revealing the truth are getting into trouble for it." "This whole notion that Assange, who's an Australian, that we want to prosecute him for treason. I mean, aren't they jumping to a wild conclusion?" he added. "This is media, isn't it? I mean, why don't we prosecute The New York Times or anybody that releases this?" That's the high school freshman's take...

Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) is defending WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange's release of thousands of classified diplomatic cables. In an interview with Fox Business Thursday, Paul went against the opinions of many of his Republican colleagues, asserting that Assange should be given the same protections as the media. "In a free society we're supposed to know the truth," Paul said. "In a society where truth becomes treason, then we're in big trouble. And now, people who are revealing the truth are getting into trouble for it." “This whole notion that Assange, who's an Australian, that we want to prosecute him for...

Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) is taking a stand as one of Julian Assange’s few defenders in Washington, arguing that the WikiLeaks founder should get the same protections as the media. Attorney General Eric Holder said this week that the Justice Department is examining whether Assange can be charged with a crime for posting hundreds of thousands of leaked government intelligence documents and diplomatic cables. Many Republicans have gone even further in their attacks on Assange, especially former Arkansas GOP Gov. Mike Huckabee, who said this week that the source who leaked to the WikiLeaks founder should be tried for treason...

On tonight's Geraldo Rivera show, he had on a couple of people purporting that 9/11 was an inside job because 'Fire Can't Melt Steel'. At least one was from 9/11 families (I do not know if it was one of the handful of anti-war 9/11 famil;ies or not). Has Roger Ailes gone crazy!

US Pacific Command’s Adm William Fallon says the group wasn’t conducting anti-sub operations, but the fact remains that the submarine did slip past the group’s security screen undetected and popped up within firing range of the Kitty Hawk.

Exploding the “That Wasn’t A Missile” Myth By Gargantua What appeared to be a missile rose from below the horizon, streaking into the sky off of California leaving a condensation trail identical to the kind that have been filmed being left by a ground-or-sea-to-air launch of a Minuteman missile or ICBM. First, the Government was inexplicably mum on the topic. Next came a series of sometimes contradictory explanations. Now, days after the event, the finally agreed-upon explanation hits every news station all at once. “It’s the con-trail of a jet returning from across the Pacific.” There are two glaring problems...

....Nullification was used throughout American history on behalf of free speech and free trade, and against unconstitutional searches and seizures, military conscription, and the fugitive slave acts. Pyke doesn't mention this. No one ever does. We must stick to the narrative: the states are stupid and backward, the federal government is a progressive force, and anyone skeptical of this version of events belongs on a watch list.....

Arab and Iranian Press Mark Ninth Anniversary of 9/11 with Conspiracy Theories and Condemnation of America Around the ninth anniversary of 9/11, the discussion in the Arab and Muslim world on the issue was indicative of tension between the U.S. and the Muslim world – against the backdrop of U.S. foreign policy, the proposed construction of an Islamic center near Ground Zero in New York, and Florida pastor Terry Jones' threat to burn copies of the Koran on the anniversary itself. Numerous articles in the Arab and Iranian press on this anniversary reflected tension and suspicion vis-à-vis the U.S. and...

A rare sight - Yosemite National Park This park was gazetted as a national park in 1890. It is world famous for its rugged terrain, waterfalls, and century-old pine trees. It covers 1200 sq km and the "fire" waterfall of El Capitan is one of the most spectacular of all scenery. The spectacular view of the waterfall is created by the reflection of sunlight hitting the falling water at a specific angle. This rare sight can only be seen during a 2-week period towards the end of February. To photograph this rare event, photographers would often have to wait and...

As I wrote last year, I find it amazing that the "Birthers" are considered more dangerous and evil than the "Truthers." The Birthers believe that an ambitious man who travelled a lot as a kid has concealed the circumstances of his birth so he could be eligible for the presidency. I don't think they've made their case. And, frankly, I'm not sure I'd want them to at this point. Aside from the horror of a Biden presidency, I for one don't yearn for a constitutional crisis. And while I am sure there are more elaborate and crazier versions of Birtherism,...

There was a shooting just outside the Pentagon today, at a security checkpoint. Two cops were injured; breaking reports say the suspect, J. Patrick Bedell, has died. The suspect, believed to be a U.S. citizen, walked up to a security checkpoint at the Pentagon in an apparent attempt to get inside the massively fortified Defense Department headquarters, at about 6:40 p.m. local time. “He just reached in his pocket, pulled out a gun and started shooting” at point-blank range, Keevill said. “He walked up very cool. He had no real emotion on his face.” The Pentagon officers returned fire with...

In the early 1980's Stephen King made all dogs a little more suspect with the horror novel Cujo. The story hinged around a more-than-loveable St. Bernard that contracted rabies while chasing a rabbit and became an unpredictable, crazed killing machine. A large portion of the novel and its well-created movie equivalent was centered on a mother and child as they fought to stay alive against the continuous attacks of the transformed-rabid dog. Among the thrills and chills of this story, one can pick out many sad parts to this tale. I have long thought that among the many losers of...

The Daily Beast published a fairly interesting interview with Congressman Ron Paul today. I strongly recommend you read it: if you didn’t think Paul was crazy before today, you will know better from now onwards. Quote: Paul was quick to come to the defense of Medina, his former top campaign volunteer who lost yesterday’s primary against Perry and Hutchison. Medina, who ran on the platform of abolishing private property taxes and the notion that Texas should be able to ignore “unconstitutional” federal laws, was surging in the polls before Glenn Beck asked her on his radio show if she was...

WASHINGTON -- The gunman who shot two Pentagon police officers was heavily armed and spent weeks driving to the Capital area from the West Coast, authorities said Friday. Resentment of the U.S. government and suspicions over the 9/11 attacks have surfaced in writings by the Californian identified as the man fatally wounded in a hail of return fire.

Van Jones, Obama's former "green energy czar" forced to resign over endorsing views that President George W. Bush may have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen as well as controversy over his past as a radical communist, appears to have landed on his feet. Many of his views may have been unacceptable to the vast majority of the American public, but he's more than welcome at an Ivy League university and one of D.C.'s most prominent liberal think tanks:--Van Jones, the environmental justice advocate who relinquished his post as a White House adviser five months ago after coming under fire from...

Why did Beck say that "birthers" are as dangerous as Timothy McVeigh and that only Democrats and Republican are normal but those who aren't associating themselves with Democrats and Republicans are dangerous? Up until today, he was portraying himself as someone that thought those people were the problem.
-
I was asked a question on the Glenn Beck show today regarding my thoughts on the so-called 9/11 truth movement. I have never been involved with the 9-11 truth movement, and there is no doubt in my mind that Muslim terrorists flew planes into those buildings on 9/11. I have not seen any evidence nor have I ever believed that our government was involved or directed those individuals in any way....

As we start the new year 2010, the establishment politicians, economists and Wall Street are trying to convince themselves that we have turned the corner and economic growth has once again begun. The predictions that conditions are getting back to normal come from those who never saw the crisis coming and don't have the vaguest notion what caused it. Some of them concede that it could be a jobless recovery. That will establish a new definition for a recovery. Official unemployment is at 10% but even the government knows that if everyone is counted, including those individuals that are too...

Conspiracy theorists awaiting Wednesday night's premiere of "Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura" might take interest in a curious comment Ventura made in the Los Angeles Times this weekend. Ventura, who has been doing the media rounds promoting his new venture on TruTV, told the paper that MSNBC cancelled his show "Jesse Ventura's America" in 2003 because he did not support the Iraq War. He said the network "in essence" paid him to be silent, which allowed him to purchase a house in Mexico. This is not your first venture into TV hosting since leaving the governorship. What happened to "Jesse...

The Canadian Press VANCOUVER — SNIPPET: "Khaled Nawaya, a flight instructor, was arrested by Canada Border Services agents when they found $800,000 in gold coins and other currency in his car and pockets on Oct. 6, as he crossed into Surrey, B.C., near Vancouver." SNIPPET: "He'd been living in the U.S. since he was 17 and had gained approval for permanent residency in Canada. Besides the gold, Canadian agents found a ring bearing the insignia of Hezbollah, which has been listed as a terrorist organization by the Canadian government since 2002. They also seized 9/11 conspiracy theory-themed DVDs and a...

I was listening to Hugh Hewitt tonight. He had on a group "Contract From America". The folks from the organization mentioned a split with a gent named Williams and what made my hair stand on end was their desire to make the movement "mainstream". The last few days left many of us at a loss of words as we recalled the horrors of September 11th, 2001. But while people share stories of tragic loss and hope, pictures and afterthoughts, we still have the 9/11 “truthers” who like to tell us our fellow Americans died at the hands of our own government. Last night’s Red Eye discussed Charlie Sheen, the latest celebrity truther idiot to shoot off his mouth. He recently released a YouTube video demanding both a meeting with the president and a reinvestigation of 9/11: Sheen’s main message: “We want our country back,...

"Truthers" are the people who believe the 9/11 terror attacks were an inside job. That the Bush administration had advance knowledge of them and let them occur. In the more extreme version of an already extremist theory, truthers believe the U.S. government itself carried out the attacks as an excuse to take the nation to war. At the very least the truthers question the official version of events and want the government to reopen the investigation. In a way, they have a lot in common with those who to this day refuse to believe that Lee Harvey Oswald fired the...

The "resignation" shortly after midnight on Sunday morning of President Obama's "green jobs czar" Van Jones has generally been seen as a convenient holiday weekend move. By Friday, after White House Secretary Robert Gibbs would only say that he still was a part of the administration, it was obvious that Jones's resignation was only a matter of time. The 9/11 truther and other evidence accumulated by Glenn Beck, Gateway Pundit, and others was simply overwhelming. But it seems to me that it would have been more convenient had the White House waited until early Sunday afternoon to announce Jones's resignation....

For years I have refrained from writing about 9/11 conspiracy theory. But Van Jones' resignation as top green jobs adviser in the Obama administration has compelled me to pick up this battering ram once again. In my PoliticsDaily.com column, I've (partly) blamed 9/11 conspiracy theorists for the downfall of Jones. Not that he's not accountable for his own behavior, but the perpetuators of the 9/11 nonsense launched a virus in left circles, and Jones was not savvy enough to keep clear of it. As I huffed: As far as I can tell, the only thing the so-called 9/11 Truth movement...

Arianna Huffington’s liberal gossip site the Huffington Post has been vigorously defending green jobs czar and 9/11 “truther” Van Jones. It turns out that Jones was Huffington’s grassroots political director when she ran for governor in the 2003 recall election. In fact, Jones, a self-described “communist,” thought Huffington was so wonderful he was part of the effort to draft her to run for office. A San Francisco Chronicle article from Sept. 5, 2003 described Jones as Huffington’s “grassroots director.” A Miami Herald article from Aug. 3, 2003, described Jones as a ”Bay Area activist” and “director of the Ella Baker...

The chattering classes are asking how someone with Van Jones' background was able to get appointed to a high ranking position in the Obama administration. The answer is easy, Obama had someone just like him at a high level of his presidential campaign from its beginning in early 2007 right through the November 2008 election.Code Pink co-founder Jodie Evans, a California comrade of Jones, served as a member of Obama's finance team as a bundler, fundraising event host and was a maxed-out donor. She is also a 9/11 Truther who signed the same 9/11 conspiracy petition in 2004 that Van...

It seems incredible that Barack Obama would appoint someone to manage $30 billion in government money who actually believes the government of George Bush stood by and allowed 9/11 to happen as a "pretext for war." Incredible - but true. Green Czar Van Jones signed a petition in 2005 demanding another investigation into 9/11 by the New York Attorney General, concentrating on the lunatic notion that President Bush, at the very least, knew about the attacks of September 11 in advance and did nothing to stop them so he could take the country to war. Update from Thomas Lifson: Jones...

Jones likens Bush to a 'crackhead' in latest video gaffe By Tony Romm - 09/04/09 02:33 PM ET Another video of White House green jobs czar Van Jones has hit the Web today: This time, Jones labels former President George W. Bush a "crackhead" for his policy to lower the price of foreign oil. Although it is unclear when and where Jones delivered his diatribe, this latest video is the first in which the subject of Jones' remarks somewhat relates to his work with the White House Council on Environmental Quality. The clip picks up with Jones in the middle...

Van Jones' has a law degree so naturally that makes him fully qualified to advise the President of the most prosperous nation on earth on how to green the blocks in question that somehow became un-green. No matter that Van Jones first began learning about environmental pollution somewhere around 2008. If we don't hire Presidents with the necessary knowledge and skills for the job, why should we expect them to do otherwise? No one should be aghast that Obama hired Van Jones. Obama hired like-minded people, the people he likes, and those who will run the offices and agencies they...

Yesterday, news broke out that Barack Obama's communist Green Czar was a 9-11 Truther. The White House much later in the day released a statement saying Van Jones was "not now or ever" involved in the 9-11 Truther movement. Jones said the petition he signed in 2004 did not reflect his views. Not true. This article at Rense.com from 2002 links Van Jones to the 9-11 Truther movement at its infancy: [*SNIP*]

As a former White House aide myself, there are two incidents that tell me Glenn Beck is right in asking his questions about Van Jones. Two incidents that ask an even more serious question than anything asked about Jones himself. The question: What did the Obama White House know about Van Jones and when did they know it?

A high-profile White House official is apologizing for a series of provocative statements on race and politics, and denying he ever backed a statement suggesting President Bush was complicit in the September 11 terror attacks, which appeared above his signature. "Green jobs" pioneer Van Jones -- who made his name fusing environmentalism with anti-poverty efforts in California -- said in a statement through the White House press office: In recent days some in the news media have reported on past statements I made before I joined the administration – some of which were made years ago. If I have offended...

Another day and yet another revelation about an Obama administration advisor or member of the inner sanctum; this time one Anthony "Van" Jones, Barack Obama's "Special Advisor for Green Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation," whatever that position is supposed to entail. I think it has something to do with being a member of the Communist Party and an all-around America-hating radical, but what else is new when we're talking about the Keystone Cops atmosphere currently underway over at the White House? As far as bizarre went, I thought I'd heard it all when Mr. Jones was busted on a recent video...

In which Gateway Pundit does the Googling that Obama refuses to do. Although honestly, at this point I think Jones’s hiring is best explained not as a breakdown in vetting but as a goof by Obama to see just how much crap the media will let him get away with. “Hey Rahm — bet you 20 bucks I can get a Truther communist appointed to an environmental oversight position.” Birthers at the town halls … and Truthers in the White House. Which has gotten more press coverage? NEW YORK CITY, NY (Oct. 26, 2004) – An alliance of 100 prominent...

This is stunning-a 2008 audio of Van Jones explicitly stating that the "Green Jobs" movement will be used to push through "revolutionary" change. I defy anyone to listen to this and tell me that Van Jones is not still a communist. Even more stunning is the only days old admission by "the other half of Obama's Brain" Valerie Jarrett, that "we" have been watching Van Jones for some years and are "so happy to recruit him to the White house" I suggest to readers that they check out this post. It explains that Jarrett's late father-in-law Vernon Jarrett worked closely...

Here is video of a Fox News report tonight by James Rosen on Radical Obama "Green Jobs Czar" Van Jones. The report details all the major evidence of his radicalism that has surfaced over the last couple of weeks. Significantly, toward the end of the report, University of Virginia Political Science Professor Larry Sabato said the "vetting process" clearly broke down with "Mr. Jones." Sabato went on to say: "If a Bush official had made anything comparable to what Mr. Jones has said and done, no doubt there would have been a national hurrah (fuss) of magnificent proportions."This means the...

TEL AVIV – President Obama's controversial "Green Jobs" adviser, Van Jones, signed a statement that alleges the Bush administration may have deliberately allowed the 9/11 attacks, perhaps as a pretext for war. The Gateway Pundit blog found Jones' name among 100 signatories of notable American citizens in the 9/11 statement, which called for an investigation and the formation of an independent inquiry to determine whether members of the Bush administration were involved in the attacks. Jones signed the 2004 statement as the director of the Ella Baker Human Rights Center. The statement, facilitated by the 911truth.org conspiracy website, calls for...

Obama law tab up to $1.4 mil 'Grassroots army' contributions being used to crush eligibility lawsuits? Posted: August 10, 2009 8:42 pm Eastern By Chelsea Schilling © 2009 WorldNetDaily President Obama may be using his political action committee funds to stomp out eligibility lawsuits brought by Americans, as he has paid more than $1.35 million to his top lawyer since the election. Obama for America, Obama's 2008 political campaign, merged with the Democratic National Committee in January and is now known as Organizing for America. The grassroots army that some refer to as "Obama 2.0" is still collecting financial contributions....
