Obama leaving door open to Syria strike, even if Congress votes no

President Obama apparently is leaving the door open to moving ahead with a military strike on Syria even if Congress votes against it, adding to the confusion over the president’s evolving position.
The president, in a surprise decision Saturday, announced he would seek a vote in Congress on launching a military attack against the Assad regime.
One senior State Department official, though, told Fox News that the president’s goal to take military action will indeed be carried out, regardless of whether Congress votes to approve the use of force.

America’s Bonaparte. More like Napoleon III than the first one.

At least Hitler and his minions had spiffy uniforms with visored hats and arm bands, without a scorecard you can’t tell his minions from the rinos.

New talking points next week: Liberal media will bring up the “politics stop at water’s edge” meme, so Republicans must support Obama. Democrats will point out the “hypocrisy” of Republicans supporting Bush on foreign policy but not Obama. Republicans will cave.

He will strike. The narrative will be that republicans voted for murdering children today and with that obstructionist vote they have left the president no choice but to move ahead with military action to protect woman and children.

That’s what will be said.

OK, with me. Let Obama got it completely alone without allies or congress or even his liberal base. As GWB was warned and ignored :”You break it you own it’

Will Obama shutdown the government and cut-off the troops pay in the middle of an air-strike that he ordered on his own?

Obama doesn’t need congress for delaying parts of O-care, or amnesty, or federal drug offenses, so why this? They should vote to tell him to pound sand.

I do get it.

But when Israel is forced to use nukes, our embassies are on fire all over the world, Russia, Britain and China are all giving us a hard time because their oil sources are out of service, there will be repercussions.

There is the straw that breaks the camel’s back. Eventually obumbler will reach that point simply because he does not know when too far is too far.

Bump!

I agree totally.

If he openly defies congress on this one, he could be impeached. Yes, I know the Senate will not, but there might be enough pressure from We the People, that enough ComDem Senators might actually do it.

Yeah, it is obvious. What’s also clear is that all his posturing has now put him in a position that is even more damaging to what little was left of his credibility before. Announcing he’s giving Congress a vote while simultaneously announcing he’s going to go ahead with the attack regardless of what Congress does completely cancels out any value the vote might have had in providing him cover. He’s so inept he can’t even pull off a good charade.

Obama wants congress to say “no”. This is his way out. I say congress should give him the go ahead. Then he owns it.

Boner will force a yes vote...Odumbo will fire missiles....innocent women and children will get killed... and Boner and Odumbo will sit down and have a good cry. The US will be the laughing stock of the world and the Mid East countries will band together and wipe Israel off the face of the Earth. Our economy tanks and we’re left in misery and poverty. That’s my optomistic thought for the day.

I think the “leaders” of congress who met with Obama assured him they’d cover for his ass and vote “no”. Mccain and Graham yelling for an “attack” is all smoke and mirrors.

I’m not sure Slaughter’s “deem and passed” was used. Rather, they reconciled in the Senate without rewriting anything (taking Pelosi’s bill as is), thus bypassing the filibuster. One of the reasons it’s an even bigger mess than expected. Some changes were allowed, involving taxes that can evade the filibuster rule, like the amendment for Bart Stupid promising to remove abortion from Obastardcare (They put it right back).

Congress comes back September 9. I suspect that BO is going to ask Boner and The Dim Bulb From Searchlight to vote on authorization for military action against Syria first, then, win or lose, he’ll attack on September 11 so nobody will bother to note that it’s the anniversary of Benghazi.

Assad killing Syrian children is an atrocity, so Hussein is going to punish him by killing Syrian children.

He can’t wait to kill some kids to show the world he’s tough.
