“Obama “choking” America’s economic growth”
No.....Obama’s “choking” America.
The problem is that Republican’s haven’t figured out how to fix it either. Obamacare is not helping but our economic was hurting before Obamacare.
The problem is that 40 years ago we lowered the import tariffs and they now average just 1%. Low wage countries are taking our jobs and industries. And we have all been taught protectionism was a bad thing. Even though the USA had tariffs of 15% or more it’s first 190 years.
And there are still several hundred million of Chinese waiting to come in from the fields and take a factory job.
America needs to raise the tariffs while we still have enough capital and know how to rebuild our industries.
The fact that they don’t tells me they are as much of the problem as the democrats.
We have on party rule - the statist party.
Mike is my congressman. He’s a good man who played an instrumental role in launching the Washington Crossing National Cemetery. My wife and I were there for the ground breaking ceremony, and we go up from time to time to lay wreaths. I only hope Mike throws away the Jim Greenwood “moderate” playbook and votes with the conservatives.
Mike screwed up his first time around when he actually voted with the rats to prevent drilling for oil in a pinhead-sized barren wasteland in Alaska known as ANWR. He sides with the enviro-nazis a little too much for my taste (in line with the Jim Greenwood strategery). I look forward to seeing if he’s another “Tuesday clubber” or a genuine conservative. Helping Cruz conservatives defund Mengelecare will be a key test.
Mike talks the talk - - let’s see if he walks the walk.
I’m waiting for a leader who is smart enough to take advantage of all the disgruntled voters who have had it with both parties. Wars all over the place, America acting as the world’s police force, crony capitalism, immigration amnesty, gun control, etc., even cramming the social issues down everyone’s throats rather than letting voters in individual states make their own decision, these are all issues that clear majorities of Americans are concerned about. The left, frankly, has pushed too hard too fast, and Americans are sick of it. They’re also sick of Republicans who do the exact opposite of what they’re elected to do.
There are large percentages on both the left and right who are sick and tired of the status quo in DC and want real, fundamental change. Contrary to what the media sycophants say, most Americans don’t really want all these edicts from the idiots in DC. Most voters, I think, I tired of both Republicans and Democrats.
This is an excellent opportunity for a return to federalism. If California wants to create a socialist “paradise,” let them try. If other states want to open up the free market, then they should have the right to try, too. There are many issues that both the left and right can come together on, or at least reach a reasonable compromise that does not involve more edicts from DC.
Where have the Republicans been (lately) on this?
Say it isn't so.
Everyone learns in ECON101 that more regulatory framework, higher taxes, uncertainty about what a government might do next, a complete lack of any coherent energy policy creates economic growth and prosperity.
Choking? How about “has strangled”?
To GOP: Do something about it! Start with Obamacare, right now. Oh, and here's an idea. Show some guts for once in your worthless lives!
Otherwise, shut your useless mouths and stop wasting our time while you ASSIST in destroying what's left of the country!
Well they are right about Barry choking the economy. But under GW the GOP had 8 years to simplify the tax code and what happened? Nada. What will happen when they get power again? Nada.
More like 0bummer and the ‘rats have aborted it.
