Who Told Vermont To Be Stupid?
Forbes ^ | 9/01/2013 | James Conca

In a week when we celebrated one of the greatest speeches in history, we also saw discrimination win over science. Again. Ideology defeated reason. As a scientist, I was saddened in a way I am not usually wont.

The Great State of Vermont threw away cheap clean energy this week out of ignorance and fear. Vermont chose to be stupid, and will hurt the environment as a sidebar.

They pride themselves in ‘stupid’ as do those in Santa Cruz as ‘weird’. Santa Cruz is ahead.

I live in Vermont and I can tell you that the VT. State government has been in a legal fight with Entergy for the past four years. Entergy got the okay to keep running the plant for the next twenty years, despite its being almost forty years old. No one saw Entergy giving up and decommissioning the plant. The hippies were literally dancing in the streets here.

650 people are going to be out of work, power bills are going to skyrocket, property taxes are going to go through the roof, but so long as the fish aren’t glowing we’re supposed to be happy. “Sigh”

No one needed to tell Vermont to be stupid, it comes naturally to them.

“Entergy inc to close the nuclear plant providing 70% of the state’s energy, it does not appear the Vermont state government has a say in this so I don’t know what’s up with the headline”
That’s my understanding also.

It’s sad what’s happened to your state.

Goddamn hippies, I wonder why they chose Vermont.

Jefferson County in the Olympic peninsula, Washington state, is another infested area according to a freeper that lives there. That explains it’s heavily rat voting pattern despite being rural. Like Vermont, another good place for a commune I guess.

They ruined San Fransisco too, that town didn’t used to be the butt of every joke like it is now.
