On Saturday, a couple walking through the French Quarter was severely beaten in what appears to be yet another act of violence, motivated by racism.
Around 6 a.m., the couple was approached by three young black men near the intersection of Iberville and Dauphine Streets. The suspects quickly surrounded the couple and without warning, physically assaulted both of them, according to police.
The Times-Picayune reported:
The woman was punched in the mouth, police said, and her male companion was struck several times by the group. The man was beaten so badly that his jaw broke, requiring him to be hospitalized and undergo surgery, police said. Three plates were inserted into the 27-year-old male victim's jaw.
Images of the three suspects were captured by a security camera and police are now asking for the public's help in their arrest.

Yes, but the website should track all attacks of all kinds. Results may be tabulated by race of attackers and victims but to be fair and not racist, it should be done for all.
I think it would have the results that you suspect which is young black males are attacking people of all races more than usual and decent people of all races need to be careful.
When the Whites decide to end it. In other words, make them to think that while we would like to bet the hell out of some Whites, the pleasure we would get from it is not worth the pain that they will or may inflict on us. To put it another way: When Whites decide to fight back. And not one second sooner.

Being near nice hotels means the victims potentially have more money to steal (if that was the motivation); and in NO 6am might be one of the best times (most of the late partiers are off the streets, and few early risers are up and about yet).
They should look into suing the city for the medical bills, pain and suffering, and anything else they can reasonably claim. NO advertises to get people to vacation there. If you advertise then in my view you have a responsibility to provide a reasonably safe environment.
The French Quarter is not an urban jungle. It may be surrounded by inner cities, but it is not an inner city. It’s one of the most beautiful sections of the United States.
This is not a ‘bad’ neighborhood, but right in the French Quarter, a block from the best restaurants and hotels etc. And 6 am is only a little ‘odd’ - some bars never close, most are jumping until 3-4 am. And then there are those who might want to take a walk to the riverfront at dawn. This is definitely an ‘atypical’ assault - I find Obama and the Trayvonistas more at fault than the victims or the neighborhood.
The blog based on the 'White Girl Bleed a Lot' book lists many of these crimes...I also recall a couple of Freepers linking to sites that list such crimes...

It has reached that point. This happened in New Orleans, for heaven's sake. It doesn't matter how many billions of dollars the feds pour into it; without tourists feeling safe in the French Quarter how can it survive?
I've reached a point where I won't walk in an urban environment unless there's a critical mass of people who look like they're doing something purposeful. Any place with idle groups of more than three or so, any ethnic group, is often not safe.
There are bears that are afraid or psycho, and will attack you if you do anything offensive, like “look at them funny”, and there are bears that just plain want to eat you. Passively avoiding the first kind, and aggressively facing the second kind is the best, plan, but there is an obvious problem with it. You have to have a plan that works for both, and that plan includes a large handgun.
