He’s a Canadian citizen, was born in Canada. Has a Canadian passport.

If he were a liberal, you’d consider him ineligible.

It’s important that we support a CONSERVATIVE like Cruz who is pro-life, pro-family, pro-religious freedom, pro-gun, pro-drilling, pro-constitutionally limited small government, pro-individual liberty, pro-states rights, pro-defense, pro-border security, pro-America, anti-big government, anti-ObamaCare, anti-AMNESTY, anti-IRS, anti-income tax, anti-EPA, anti-abortion, anti-homo marriage, anti-socialism, anti-liberalism, anti-RINOism.

That’s Cruz and he has the grassroots tea party support. And he has my support. He fits the bill perfectly to head up our tea party rebellion!!

And sorry, ma’am, but he’s an AMERICAN in every sense of the word and infinitely more so than Obama or Hillary or any bought and paid for RINO that Tokyo Rove and the GOP-e can dredge up!!

Eff the RINOS!! Eff the left!!

Rebellion is ON!!

Run, Ted, RUN!!

But he isn’t a liberal. He’s the most conservative prospect that we’ve had since the 1980’s. So if the libs can get away with this crap by electing Obama, then I’m all for fighting to get Cruz elected. Anything else is a unilateral surrender, something the GOP does way too often.

JCBreckenridge: “It’s ok because it’s Cruz. No, it’s not ok.”

Agreed. Born in another country to parents who are not both citizens? How could that be considered natural born? So if a Saudi prince takes an American wife and has children born in Saudi Arabia, they are “natural born” Americans? That sounds like complete nonsense to me.

“the libs can get away with this crap by electing Obama, then I’m all for fighting to get Cruz elected”

I thought we were conservatives and not liberals. Guess I thought wrong. Liberals justify it because they believe that power trumps principles. Doing the right thing - in the end - will benefit us far more.

Here’s what I see happening. RINOs will entice Cruz to run. Then they backstab him during his presidential campaign. Cruz loses - Liberals install a D in his seat. We lose the Senate, House and the presidency.

How does this help us?

Conservatives MUST get behind one candidate. We can win if we choose and promote one from the beginning and don’t waver. Having 6-7 semi conservatives to split us up is what killed us last time.(Last several elections)

We need to decide NOW and be vocal and run over the GOPe.
I hope Ted runs, and I hope he makes the decision early and that other conservatives get behind him and we stop the tearing down and splitting up. We can WIN if we are united!

We also need to meantime be primarying every stinking RINO we possibly can in House and Senate, beginning with John Boehner. I HOPE we can find a conservative to run against him!

Yes, this is the exact standard that apparently is ‘good enough’. You share my precise concerns.

Why have a citizen at all? Why have a residency requirement? Because the constitution says so?

We have been told that ‘slippery slope is a fallacy. I recall, less than 10 years ago being told that sex education for kindergartners was a myth. Now, today, it is a reality. We open the doors to this - we’ll see the floodgates opened. Where Americans are governed not by one of their own but by a foreigner who’s never set foot in America. We had that once before - in King George.

Cruz has no executive experience.

I prefer Palin for Prez., Cruz for Senate Leader.

I hope a candidate who is eligible runs and we can all get behind him. Last time, IIRC - everyone was upset that Palin didn’t run and then rather than voting for the most conservative candidate on the ballot decided to hold out. It was a disappointment.

We needed unity and we had a candidate who proved he could beat Romney. Too little too late. Now we’re supposed to get behind a fantastic conservative senator who happens to be ineligible. We lose on that issue and lose the presidency and then what do we get for it?
