SOLDIERS SPEAK OUT ON SYRIA: 'We Are Not A World Police'
Business Insider ^ | 9/2/13 | Paul Szoldra

Posted on 09/02/2013 9:01:30 AM PDT by Nachum

With the President poised to strike in Syria and the Congress set to vote on the issue the week of Sep. 9, the debate about U.S. military intervention in the two-year-old civil war is already happening amongst the American public.

Some Americans have made their voices known to their representatives, while many others have said the U.S. should stay out of the conflict, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.

In the poll, only 20% said the U.S. should take action, although that was up from 9% last week. Even if it's clear the Assad regime used chemical weapons on civilians, only 29% said the U.S. should intervene.

Great response to a good question:

“Totally inappropriate. He shouldn’t be making political statements in uniform.”

His commanders do, so why can’t he since that law is no longer enforced? It is his ass that is on the line.

It seems like each day, we have one of Obozo's Gay Priders posing as a warrior, spouting their party line. We never hear from the guys and gals, whose butt will be in the line of danger.

I think it’s appropriate when the boss wants you to kill for Allah.

Bullseye. “Just following orders” is not an excuse any more.

Illegal due to the fedgov knowingly lying about who used the chem weapons, for one. Knowingly and purposely supporting the enemy, for another. Enemy meaning AQ, MB and assorted insanely evil jihadis.

Apparently you think it’s fine to support and fight on the same side as AQ and the MB. Makes me really, really wonder who the h*** you are.

They know we weren’t at war with Eastasia last week and that this isn’t Oceania ....
Yet: We’re still free thanks to the brave. I support “our” military, it’s not Obumge’s.

I think it’s clear that many in the mil are discussing this, saw other like photos online, decided to add their own statements and thought the wording quite apt and saw no need to change it.

Do you think there is some nefarious reason?

I think everyone in Congress who votes for this war needs to suit up and grab a rifle, grab a parachute and catch the first flight over to Syria.

Do you have proof the Federal government is lying? I don’t believe them, but I have no proof.

I think we should have nothing to do in Syria, that doesn’t change the fact of protesting in uniform.

Who do you think I am?

Muslims go fight their little jihads all the time. I think its time for the armchair generals to put up or shut up.

“Question: Why do so many of these notes have the exact same text?”

Because just like standing around at the water cooler, the military talks and the grape vine is active.

Turn your weapons inward, boys. The enemy is within the gates.

Looks to me like it is an organized mutiny, ready to go viral and it couldn’t happen to a more deserving POTUS at a more perfect time. He wants HIS Marines to fight for him and hold his umbrella at the same time.

Respectfully Sir, these soldier's signed up and swore and oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.

One of the first things I learned in the Army was that soldiers will only follow you if they trust you.

President Obama, Both the House and Senate have shown they can not be trusted.

UCMJ or the ultimate sacrafice in an undeclared war on foreign soil to the aid of enemies that would love nothing more than to witness the anniliation of the U.S.A. seems like an easy call to me.

Americia is defended by less than 1% of the ungreatful population of this nation. Maybe some of the ruling elite should show their dedication to this mission by placing their own children in harms way before they so callously send soldiers out to die needlessly on a mission that has no clearly defined end strategy and is designed to do nothing more than make President Obama look like he has a clue what he is doing.

They are when DEMOCRATS are in charge..
When Republicans are in charge, they are baby-murderers who couldn’t find a job elsewhere, and reminiscent of Ghengis Kahn.

Funny how that works, isn’t it?

“he signed up for service.”

And why should that negate his political views? His ONLY obligation is to obey his orders, not become a silent slave.

I have never agreed with shutting down the military voice. All kinds of people spend money to influence the Congress and the President, yet, the very people whose lives are at stake get no voice at all. I am sure this is not what the founders had in mind for a national military. They wanted the States to have a say and the State militaries always had a say.

As part of the Communist takeover of this country they have silenced the members of the military and made laws to shut them up. Who better to know the ramifications of military use than the military? Yet, the Commies don’t want to hear from them.

Ever notice in our history that is has always been a Democrap Commie that got us entangled into war and it is always the Democrap that wants people to just shut up and do as they are told?
