DETROIT (WWJ) – The mayor of Boston is drawing criticism for recent comments he made about Detroit.

In an interview with the New York Times, Mayor Thomas Menino was asked if he could live in any other city in America other than Boston, where would he choose.

He at first said he’d never thought of living in any other city, but then added: “Detroit is a place I’d love to go.”

When the reporter asked Menino what he’d do in Detroit, the mayor responded: ”I’d blow up the place and start all over.”

the most noteworthy trait of *this* mayor is the fact that he has the IQ of a bag of rocks.

That explains why Mumbles talks like he has a mouth full of rocks.

He may be (is probably) the worst mayor that Boston has ever elected.

BOSTON

DETROIT

Isn't it fun comparing the worst of one city to the best of another?

You are a lot more optimistic about Detroit than I am. But then, I am pretty pessimistic about CA, IL also.

I am glad to hear those inspectors and union thugs got busted for corruption.

There’s just a lot more going on in Detroit than most people realize. There is a lot of private investment going on in both Detroit and Windsor due to GOP control of the state and the final go ahead for the new bridge (Canada is paying for the bridge)

Still the social problems still exist and those are the hardest ones to fix.

His nickname is absolutely a kick — Mumbles.

And it isn’t until you hear him at a press conference that you know why he has that name.

The mayor better be careful what he wishes for...

I was in the Peoples Socialist Republik of Taxachuetts a couple of weeks back and I don't like what I saw.

In fact If you don't listen to Howie Carr, do so.

He explained it and I did in a post how the State maybe on the Hook for Billions between the tainted Drugs Scandal, The Fudged Criminal Evidence and reimbursing the 10,000 Prisoners they will have to let go, and being the Highest Welfare Payout State in the Nation.

I got to see What Granholm did to Michigan, Massachuetts including Boston you are following in her footsteps and it ain't gonna be pretty.

At least Michigan has a turn around happening. Mass ain't gonna anything like the Fracking happening in MI, it's Right to Work Status, It's Tea Parties working at the grass roots level, and the likes of an Allan Mulally turning around the likes of Ford.

It might suck to be them, very shortly....

Oh and by the way, don't even get me started on their roads, I thought Michigan's Roads were bad...

It’s a kick, except that he wields incredible control over hundreds of thousands of people. He really is a thug.

Detroit has been getting torn down and started over, for quite some time. Regardless, Menino sucks.

Most accurate statement of the thread.

Looks like the deal to buy the old Packard plant is still on despite the stupidity of the law. (He was going to pay the million dollar back taxes but now it has to go through auction and he'll get it for a fraction of that)

Packard plant development deal delayed, but not dead

IN reality, a very small portion of Detroit is liveable.

Probably too soon for the mayor of Boston to be talking about blowing up cities.
