Actually, it is like a mafia family. I’ve tried to warn people here about being careful about who they let do favors for them. Take favors from the mob and you get the trouble you ask for. Same thing goes with letting fedgov do favors for you. Don’t take the benefits if you don’t want strings to get attached later.

blessings sometimes take the form of material favors, however the ultimate point is what are the favors used to DO. the Fedbeast wants the favors to redound (now there’s a not very common word, and it’s not rebound which is what happens in basketball) to its glory, rather than to do good in the sight of some independent God.
by the way re your tag. a REAL optimist tells you how things can go in your favor too and give you a reason to cheer up!
