Iran Plots Revenge on U.S. Officials Say Intercepted Message to Militants Orders Reprisals in Iraq if Syria Hit

By JULIAN E. BARNES and ADAM ENTOUS

WASHINGTON—The U.S. has intercepted an order from Iran to Shiite militants in Iraq to attack the U.S. Embassy and other American interests in Baghdad in the event of a strike on Syria, officials said, amid an expanding array of reprisal threats across the region.

Military officials have been trying to predict the range of possible responses from Syria, Iran and their allies. U.S. officials said they are on alert for Iran's fleet of small, fast boats in the Persian Gulf, where American warships are positioned. U.S. officials also fear Hezbollah could attack the U.S. Embassy in Beirut.

While the U.S. has positioned military resources in the region for a possible strike, it has other assets in the area that would be ready to respond to any reprisals by Syria, Iran or its allies.

Those deployments include a strike group of an aircraft carrier and three destroyers in the Red Sea, and an amphibious ship, the USS San Antonio, in the Eastern Mediterranean, which would help with any evacuations.

The U.S. military has also readied Marines and other assets to aid evacuation of diplomatic compounds if needed, and the State Department began making preparations last week for potential retaliation against U.S. embassies and other interests in the Middle East and North Africa.

If the military genius (/s) Obama makes a bad move, the entire region goes up in smoke.

Better now than later.

Determine secretly who is the enemy. Then crush them instantly. Have no mercy.

Obama has gone into this to the point that, no matter what he does now, it’s a big screw up. Now that takes talent.

We still have twice the number of carrier groups needed to take Russia and China, and our conventional weapons are more than adequate for the job. Our nuclear defenses cover several layers of needed defense spaces, and our nuclear first strike capabilities (against mobiles and other potential enemy launches) are also more than adequate.

The mess is not really about Obama (a figurehead, civilian in nature) or Syria. It’s about Iran’s rather surprisingly large nuclear buildup and desire to use its weapons without regards to consequences. Syria has ports for Iran. Russia and China do respect and consider consequences of nuclear threats and other foolery.

Oh but I thought if we helped the Jihadists in the “Arab Spring” we could all get along with the Muslims. No?

Sure, because Russia and China would never do anything about it. Right?

“Determine secretly who is the enemy. Then crush them instantly. Have no mercy.”

Surprise surprise... Your definition of enemy and Obama’s are probably very different.

Where IS OUR representation? Why is this guy still holding office of POTUS?

Put aside every other focus, every other issue, and the one most outstanding is lack of representation of the people by those elected by the people to represent their interests. IF these asshats were doing the job we wouldn’t be in this mess, but they aren’t doing the job for us they were elected to do.

They spend their time covering their asses to look good for the next election, or doing as they are told by those with the BIG $$$ for their campaign coffers. They almost to the one are all doing it.

Whatever they do, they shouldn’t make it personal and try and hit the instigator. No, that’d be wrong.

Wow I forgot that September 11 is coming soon. I once met an Iranian official and asked him if a war with the US is imminent. He said, “only if the US strikes Iran or Syria first.” It makes me wonder if they hope Obama starts the war. I would imagine they’re ready to rock n’ roll. Besides, the US media keeps reporting on the whereabouts of all US weaponry. I recall watching the news in China and they showed a listing of all the US naval ships in the Middle East along with its travel route patterns. Isn’t that like putting a bull’s eye on your back?

Obama wrote a check his ass cannot cover. I don’t want our military bearing the brunt of covering his check either. It makes no sense to back one group of anti west nutbags against another. Our genius president managed to give back almost any “gains” we made in Iraq; was not able to come up with a winning strategy in Afghanistan, where HE chose to go, and has run our military down to a nub to fund his domestic giveaways. We cannot stand three more years of this jackass so if he does anything against the will of Congress here, he needs be impeached, convicted and sent back to Kenya.

“...This administration is made up of the most despicable collection of perverted assholes imaginable....”

That’s about as apt and correct a definition as I’ve ever heard for them.

Add “socialist asswipes” in there somewhere too.
