Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi sent a fifth letter to Democratic colleagues in a week in an attempt to bolster support for a measure to authorize a U.S. strike in Syria.
In the letter sent Saturday, Pelosi (D-Calif.) highlighted statements supporting the strike by President Barack Obama and Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.).
“Here in California, we are blessed with the leadership of Senator Barbara Boxer, who voted for the resolution marked up this week in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee,” Pelosi wrote to Democrats.
Pelosi, who has said she will not whip an eventual resolution by applying pressure to her members, has nonetheless engaged in a public display of support. In earlier letters, Pelosi emphasized the importance of the strike and has told members she will be flexible about the eventual language in a use-of-force authorization.
With most Republicans likely to balk at the president’s request, any success in passing a resolution in the House will be heavily dependent upon Democrats. But Democrats aren’t enthusiastically lining up to support the president.
Pelosi also drew attention to Obama’s remarks that he had not set a red line in Syria, but that Congress set one in the 2003 Syria Accountability Act.
“In Sweden this week, the President said ‘I didn’t set a red line; the world set a red line,’” Pelosi wrote. “He continued saying ‘Congress set a red line when it indicated that – in a piece of legislation titled the Syria Accountability Act – that some of the horrendous things that are happening on the ground there need to be answered for.’”

I thought San Fran Nan and Assad were tight buddies during GWB’s terms in office. Guess he told her to take her hate back to the US.
That’s why I think it pertinent more than ever..to send replies to our Reps and Senators who happen to be Democrats (they’ll be under extra pressure to give in to the beat of the war drums)!

She must be frickin deranged. This woman deserve to be in a mental ward and fast.
Syrian government troops are locked in a battle with al-Quaeda-linked rebels who attacked a Christian village, commandeered a mountain top hotel and began shelling the community below.
Further accounts by villagers tell of desecration of a Catholic church by rebels. That being said, I do find Nancy Pelosi looking quite attractive in her outfit. This is my thoughts and of course I am from a much older generation.
I am waiting for Mother Pelosi to offer her sweeteners.
still no explanation of how expanding Obama’s war on Syria will do anybody any good (pipelines notwithstanding)
ps: Pelosi’s office staff say they are under orders to not respond to citizen letters (even if very respectful and thoughtful) unless you’re on her donor list

Yeah right. Call for a vote. They keep postponing the vote. I guess Nancy
is still trying to figure out which democratic held seats she is willing to lose
over this debacle.
Bonehead and Cantor control the vote schedule. They are finished. Done.
So what if the Senate votes yes by a couple of votes?
Are we going to start a war over a couple more yes votes than no votes.
Russia is moving more warships to Syria. Jihadist are gathering and preparing for major strikes. We have no allies. It’s a powder keg.
Stop this debacle or learn to love the bomb, because we are headed in
that direction.
