President Vladimir Putin gave warning that Russia would stand with Syria if America launches military strikes against the country.
Ending the summit, Mr Putin said that world opinion was firmly against US-led intervention, adding that Russia would take Syria's side. "Will we help Syria? We will," he said. "We are already helping, we send arms."

I wonder,... Iran hates Israel insanely, and Syria does somewhat. Russia has excellent relations with Israel, and has no interest in screwing that up.
If Russia could get Syria and Iran to leave Israel alone it would throw a huge monkey wrench into Zer0's strategy.

A firebrand Russian nationalist-turned-senior official said Tuesday that the West was acting in the Islamic world like a “monkey with a hand grenade.”
That's my point.
The Egyptian Military has known for a long time that peace with Israel is good (and profitable) for them and Egypt as a whole.
By kicking out the Muslim Brotherhood and increasing cooperation with Israeli security along Gaza, Sinai and the Med they show Israel they're safe from Egyptians, but not from Obama's MB.
If Egypt can do it so obviously, maybe Russia can get Iran and Syria to look and think tactically.
Putin’s not gonna blink on this one.
Obama has accomplished what he set out to accomplish. Not one country fears us anymore. I would imagine Israel is getting a lot of “bang” ready.

My fear is enough people in congress will say “How dare Russia tell us what to do!” then side with Obama in starting WWIII.
