President Vladimir Putin gave warning that Russia would stand with Syria if America launches military strikes against the country.

Ending the summit, Mr Putin said that world opinion was firmly against US-led intervention, adding that Russia would take Syria's side. "Will we help Syria? We will," he said. "We are already helping, we send arms."

Putin Puts Obama in the Hot Seat

http://frontpagemag.com/2013/raymond-ibrahim/putin-puts-obama-in-the-hot-seat/

“Putin: There is another question: if it turns out that the armed rebels are the ones who used weapons of mass destruction, what will the United States do with the armed rebels? And what will it do with those sponsoring the rebels? Will they stop supplying them with arms? Will they start fighting against them?

Indeed. Considering that invading Syria is almost entirely being rationalized in the context of Assad violating the human rights of others, what will the U.S. — Obama, Kerry, McCain, et. al. — do if it turns out that the al-Qaeda led rebels are, in fact, the ones using such weapons, as significant evidence already indicates?”

Whether or not he is serious, the mere fact he feels comfortable saying this out in the open shows just how far our standing in the world has fallen during the Obama administration. We are no longer taken seriously as a force to be reckoned with.

“We are no longer taken seriously as a force to be reckoned with.”

I agree. But lobbing a few missiles at Syria is NOT going to restore our reputation.

Can you imagine what would happen if Limbaugh called ubama a "monkey with a hand grenade"?

It would make the sandy fluck brew-ha-ha look like a picnic...

Not only that, but the entire fiasco of how Obama has presented our supposed stand on the issue sure hasn’t either.

I also don’t understand what this is supposed to accomplish. What is the end goal of it? He’s supposed to stop using the chemical weapons (assuming he was in fact using them) and resume carpet bombing / machine gunning the same people like he has been for years now and that’s okay?

My personal opinion is that the real purpose of Obama is to distract from Benghazi, the IRS scandal of targeting conservative groups, unhappiness over Obamacare and so on. And he is certainly succeeding. I don’t think he cares what really happens regarding Syria — he will blame it on Congress either way it comes out and in the meantime nobody is talking about the other issues which ARE the real ones of concern to us, or should be, since they directly affect us.

It’s an out either way - if it is voted down he will blame Congress. if he goes forward with it and it is a disaster, he will say that it wasn’t just him, it was Congress as well. Same way he is now blaming “the world” for the red line.

I am so confused.

It seems like Obama has single-handedly brought more chaos to the Middle East. Country after country has fallen (tossed out their leaders). They call it the Arab Spring.

It seems like we are now supporting the terrorists.

It feels like Obama is picking a fight with Russia. Are we on the bring of WWIII?

I realize that perhaps WWIII started on September 11, 2001. Many countries have since been bombed and torn apart. We just keep marching closer and closer to Iran.

This time it all feels different. Russia is moving ships towards Syria. Now China has pushed some ships towards Syria.

Is this about Syria or is this about Iran? Is this about both?

It seems like a HUGE buildup for just Syria.

I don’t know but this all feels as if something very very bad is going to happen.

Am I crazy? What is the goal of Obama? Is he the enemy? Could he start the war we have all feared for decades?

Just not sure what to think. Definitely concerned.

It also seems like the government is trying to get us to prepare for a huge cyber-attack.

It all feels like some sort of set-up. Maybe I am crazy.

I think you have the situation well analyzed.

I hate to see and say it, but I never thought I would see the day when I would be rooting for Putin hoping that he will teach our socialists a thing or two, who are attempting to use Syria as a diversionary ploy from Fast and Furious, Benghazi, IRS scandal, EPA and so forth…….heaven help this once Great Nation now mired in scandals and corruption.

I BELIEVE HIM 101% —they’re serious.

Me too. Ironic that the great peace-maker has not only poured gas on the Middle East, but he has taken the Cold War off the storage blocks and is in danger of making it hotter than it ever threatened since the Missiles of October fun and games.

As long as Barry is not one of those getting killed, he does not give a damn. In fact, it makes him happy because those getting killed will be U.S. Service men and women. And Barry despises the American military.
