At an invitation-only breakfast for establishment Republican types in Mount Pleasant, S.C. this week, Graham said that if America doesn’t take military action against the regime of Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, Iran will acquire a nuclear weapon by the end of 2014.
“I believe that if we get Syria wrong, within six months – and you can quote me on this – there will be a war between Iran and Israel over their nuclear program,” Graham said, according to U.S. News and World Report.
But the fear-mongering didn’t stop there. Graham says this conflict will come home to – of all places – Charleston, S.C.
“It won’t come to America on top of a missile, it’ll come in the belly of a ship in the Charleston or New York harbor,” he said.

So what. It is not our job to bail out Israel with our military. If they and Iran want to duke it out, let ‘em. Were there not so many U.S. military options on the table, these two would have to compromise. Time for the U.S. and Russia to call BS.

We went to war with Iraq again because of Chemical Weapons. That was a real event and the Kurds had helped us in the first Gulf War. I met some members of the tribe when I was there. Saddam was a brutal SOB.
What we got was the rest of the Muslim world hating us.
We went into Afghanistan to get the SOB who killed our citizens on 9/11 and to kick out a brutal, oppressive regimen, the Taliban. What we got was the Muslim world hating us.
We found the SOB that ordered our people killed on 9/11 hiding in Pakistan, our "ally" in the region. We killed him. What we got was the Muslim world hating us.
Enough blood and treasure for these people. Syria has nothing we need. If we want a war with Iran - who frankly has been a thorn in our side since Jimmy Carter misread the culture back in 1979 - then fight that war.
You cannot fight a war from the air. It is NOT some sterile, limited engagement. Don't get me wrong, I personally thanked God every single night for the Warthog drivers who covered me and my unit. But fighting and - I am going to use the correct term - killing the enemy means getting up close and personal. It means putting our soldiers on the ground in Syria. I, for one, do not support that.
It is good to see this report finally show up on FR, there is more to it, it may show up here eventually.
Iran probably has nukes already and they probably have a couple old Soviet nukes that got lost after the fall.

Israel is our richest source of intel in that region, they are our ally as well.
You got it all wrong...we should help Israel during an attack on Iran. We should not have depleted our resources in places like Iran, Afghanistan and or Syria.
The real threat IS Iran as well as N.Korea. They have the ability to wipe out hundreds of thousands to millions in one strike.
By the way, Russia has quite the history of oppression and abuse of their citizens. Millions have died at the hands of the Soviet tyrants and the invasion of Eastern Europe.
Why would we listen to ANYTHING former KGB agent Putin has to say? Syria is a longtime ally of the Soviet Union. Assad's dad was a brutal dictator, responsible for thousands of deaths of their own countrymen. Hafez Al- Assad...remember him?
They could nuke North Charleston and we would be better off. At least it would save the taxpayers money for welfare benefits and housing the scum population in prison.
