CBS News teased an exclusive interview with Bashar al-Assad conducted by Charlie Rose yesterday, in which the Syrian dictator promises to respond to any attack from the United States. Assad told Rose that an attack on his armed forces would tip the civil war in favor of al-Qaeda and its affiliates, and scoffed at John Kerry’s assertion that the US has evidence that the regime conducted the chemical-weapons attack:

Methinks the reports of that freighter coming to Syria (on/about Sept 6 departure) carries something to back up his assuredness.
Assad does look awfully white which could explain why democrats are so keen to “knock him out”.
So what if Assad says, “I’ll launch a gas attack every day that you bomb.” (?) I think in the Islamic mind that each attack must then be blamed on Obama. (It’s a different logic system than the West uses.)
Assad explained very well why he has chemical weapons. Israel does and Israel occupies some Syrian territory. He denied using them himself and expresses abhorrence for both chemical and nuclear weapons.
I didn't think Assad was making idle threats. He was stating what will happen if AlQuaida gains more control and if the MidEast becomes even more unstable.

We got this guy in the White House who likes to pop his mouth off and because of it people die. He picks on some poor security guard just doing his job. Shoots his mouth off because he sees an advantage to push items on his socialist agenda by painting a target on a supporters back. To which his media like good socialists they are spin tales of lies and falsehoods that has misguded blacks naming planets, highschools spelling out a name on a football game of a perpetrator they think was a “victim” and worst of all wind up causing a race war in this country. While he says nothing to stop it and goes golfing. The GOPES (gop Elite Snobs) so called political opposition leadership want to go along with this bad policy on Syria because they don’t wan’t to be blamed for this terrible idea. With the guard which affects the demographics they claim to be reaching out to blacks, hispanics and whites. They say nothing and can’t even call the political opposition for what they are socialist.
Obama draws some line in the sand on some civil war thats going on in a region who’s outcome really doesn’t threaten US even though a former enemy which is going through its own stuggles has a naval base there. And now we’re supposed to support a military action which could cost American lives in the end....All because our fearless leader spoke ?
The only reliable intell comes from the Israelis and there are times they don’t know. We marched into Iraq the 2nd time thinking we’d be welcome with open arms because of it.Instead the aftermath turns out to be Christians out and Sunni’s in with the Kurds gaining some measure of independence.
After the 1st dust up when we kicked Iraq out of Kuwait because of oil when the Kurds acted up and Hussain gassed them we did nothing. Now we get this high blown “democracy” b/s about an incident where very likely both sides are reverting to its use. As Syria itself is fragmenting into different identities. Kurdish, Alewite and Suni.
Who really doesn’t want that ? Turks for sure,the Saudis and the Shite principalities. Russia would be OK with it because of their naval base is in the Alewite area.

I realize this is utterly contrarian, but we’d be marching on CBS with pitchforks if they had conducted this interview while Bush was in the White House.
You really are not getting the core meaning of the opposition to this are you? This is not about Obama hate...that is far too simple and other actions by Obama on foreign policy have not gotten such reaction.
The deal is...Bush would not be helping Islamic "rebels" take Christian villages. Here is one village the Islamic extremists took recently. Now you tell me again that it's all about "haten" on the Black, leftist, President.
I’m just saying we need to be somewhat consistent when calling out the MSM on acts of treason. Obama can be humiliated in Congress without handing over half an hour of prime-time to a slime weasel like Bashir Assad.
We still have the Benghazi mess, the NSA overreach and the IRS scandals to discuss and prosecute.
