“Blind” or “Legally blind”?

Blind people can just walk into a store, buy a bicycle or even a moped, and ride/drive off in it.
I haven’t heard any stories about blind moped riders hurting anybody, nor about blind gun owners misusing a firearm.
We have to assume that adult law abiding citizens will use their sense, or we would be compelled to install a nanny state/dictatorship.

"Legally blind" doesn't mean absence of sight.
The Social Security administration defines "legally blind" as 20/200 or less.

The Blind’s hearing tends to be very accurate, like a bat’s. If I were a criminal, I would be fearful of a blind person with a gun.
To: shove_it
Being legally blind doesn’t necessarily mean you have total loss of vision. Most blind people are labeled as low-vision.

Wasn’t there someplace that made drive-thru food joints have their menus in braille?

The blind person can now pack heat when they drive to the nearst ATM where they can use the Braille keypad to get the cash they need.

Also a number of people such as myself are legally blind without glasses (driving restriction - count finger only), but with glasses or contacts can see at 20/20 acuity.

In some states they have Blind Hunting Day.
Seriously, I’d be more concerned if they gave blind people driver’s licenses.

Somebody with some drawing talent needs to make a drawing of a “blind” gunsite.
I envision a revolver with one of those sticks with the colored tips (that are use for walking) duct-taped to it.
I tried to get an artiest friend of mine to do it for me, but he wouldn’t.

When was the last time we heard of a blind CCW holder, or any CCW holder for that matter, blasting away at random on Main Street.
That's the image the libs have of gun owners.
Being blind or almost blind does not negate your right to defend yourself against invaders or robbers.
Good people owning guns, regardless of ability, is not a threat to public safety.
Libs, for all their talk of equality, don't really trust regular folks. Why is that?

Last time I saw it, the FBI says that 95% of self-defense gunfights occur at a range of “less than 1 yard.”
This indicates to me that in the majority of self-defense gunfights, the antagonists are probably grappling with each other.
In which case a blind person would not have any trouble finding their target.

I have known a number of “legally blind” people who can “see” short distances in bright daylight, but are blind at night or at long distances.
A long as such a person, had reasonable training in firearms safety and knew their limits, I would not have a problem with them owning a weapon for self defense.
