Check-and Mate....

Obama dares not attack now, unless he’s just stupid.

Putin, yet again, has stolen the Moral high Ground from the Peace Prize President.

Update from source link:

New comments on Monday from international leaders signaled a possible shift in how chemical weapons in Syria might be handled:

Russia said it will urge Syria to put chemical weapons under international control if that will avert military strikes.

Syria: Syria welcomed Russia’s proposal to put its chemical weapons under international control, but stopped short of saying explicitly that President Bashar al-Assad’s government accepted it.

Britain’s Prime Minister David Cameron said on Monday Syria should be encouraged to put its chemical weapons beyond use and under international supervision, and that the proposed chemical weapons handover idea for Syria must not be used as a “distraction tactic.”

Speaking on Monday morning, UN chief Ban Ki-Moon says if chemical weapons were used in Syria, the international community must do something about it, adding that the UN is considering asking the UN Security Council to demand Syria immediately transfer chemical weapons to safe sites in Syria where they can be stored and destroyed.

The UN Security Council suffers from “embarrassing paralysis” on Syria, and must overcome that deadlock, Ki-moon continued.

I have MSNBC (audio via XM) on and they have not covered this story. By guess they are waiting on word from WH on how to spin it.

Anyone have a guess on how it might be spun?

UK Prime Minister David Cameron says chemical weapons handover idea for Syria must not be used as a 'distraction tactic'. A distraction from what? WWIII?

Wow! What are the odds that Syria would agree to the Russian plan that they surrender their weapons, just as Obama is filming 6 interviews and preparing an Oval Office address arguing for intervention?

Gosh, won’t that kind of undermine Obama’s entire argument?

Clearly Russia has moves to play, when Obama has made a feeble, idiotic pawn advance.

Putin, yet again, has stolen the Moral high Ground from the Peace Prize President.

And solidified his hold on Syria as a permanent client state.

Are you kidding?!? How Obama can go on TV and declare Victory!

He can point to this as achieving our goals, so he can back away from intervention.

The fact that it cements Syria into the Russian orbit will be conveniently overlooked by the compliant media. This is just the way out they have been looking for. It isn't a humiliating defeat for the United States until the MFM says it's a humiliating defeat for the United States.

"Anyone have a guess on how it might be spun?"

They will try to claim credit, saying it was Obama's behind-the-scenes diplomacy that led to the solution.

The drive-bys will buy it.

Obama’s gonna pile on more demands, until he gets to the point that Assad can’t accept any more, and then Obama’s gonna used that final sticking point as his excuse to bomb. Note that this is the approach he should be using with Iran’s nuclear program, but he’s using it with respect to Syria, instead. Obama refuses to attack a genuine danger to American interests in Iran, but insists on creating a new danger to those interests in Syria. And the sad thing is - big segments of the GOP aren’t just along for the ride; they are cheerleading Obama’s policies.
