Norwegian centre-right leader Erna Solberg is set to form a new government after Labour Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg admitted election defeat.
Ms Solberg described her win as "a historic election victory for the right-wing parties".
Her Conservative Party is widely expected to form a government with the anti-immigration Progress Party.
It is oil-rich Norway's first general election since attacks by a far-right extremist left 77 people dead in 2011.

People are getting sick and tired of the left.
Thank you SOMALIS, just for BEING YOURSELVES.
WAKING UP...!
Ausralia, Norway...let us be next.
Depends. As someone else wrote me, the Norwegian “Conservative Party” makes the UK Conservative Party look like Pat Robertson... They are “Center-Right” where “Center” is well to the left of the US Democrats.
Looks like Anders Breivik woke up the Norwegian people after all.
Maybe what woke them up was the ridiculously light sentence he got.
Maybe that, too. Over here he’d be dead by now.
But just long enough to have us fix the problem, then they’re right back at it for another try at paradise.
Solberg is somewhat circumspect on immigration, but she’s had to build a coalition with the Norway Progress Party, which actually wants to do something to prevent the streets of Oslo from looking like an African or Arab slum.
The word progress must mean something different over there.
Nothing will change with gop in power. Gop is a lost cause
She is not realistic about Islam. She has a history of denigrating Israel’s efforts to survive and of siding with the Arab terrorists. The head of the more right-wing party that she is expected to bring into the government is a true friend of Israel.
Solberg isn’t savvy on the immigration issue, she’s the Norwegian equivalent of our mainstream Republicans. However, in order to have a governing coalition, she will have to work with people who can and will do something about the third world invasion.
Decades ago I was in Norway and thought it was the most wonderful country I'd ever been to. Beautiful, friendly, civil...everything worked. The citizens were extremely proud of their system of government and didn't lose a chance to tell me about it. A couple I met in Oslo invited me to their lovely home for dinner, and during our conversation said they were sorry for the USA with it's "ungovernable diversity." Nothing good would come of it, they predicted.
Not surprising to me that the Norwegians are finally moving to stem immigration, . The only surprise is that it took them so long.
Leftists never let reality get in the way of their favorite slogans, e.g. "Diversity is Strength." There's a reason why countries like Switzerland, the Scandinavian nations, and Japan are known for civility and prosperity (or at least were known for this until some of them stupidly opened their doors to the Third World), while multicultural societies breed crime, ignorance, and squalor.
Interesting.
Is a Norwegian conservative akin to a moderate Democrat? I really don’t know much about Norway’s politics.
I’ve had only a bit more contact with Norwegian’s on the Cruises that I work, and those officers are affable, social, and very opinionated..
For the most part, I found them Conservative in fiscal matters but socially liberal because they were isolated from the ills of third world thugs..
I guess that has changed with the massive influx of the mid-east, and African invasion..
Good. The first order of the day should be to restrict immigration from violent countries.
Then deport violent lawbreakers.
Then watch the rape rate go down.
