Just nine months after President Obama launched his second-term gun grab, citizens have answered a call to arms. The historic recall elections in Colorado on Tuesday mark a turning point in a string of successes in the states by gun-control advocates in the wake of the Newtown, Conn., tragedy. The outcome of the races could determine how much further Second Amendment rights are abridged across the nation.
For the first time, Coloradans have organized recall elections for holders of state office state Senate President John Morse and state Sen. Angela Giron of Pueblo. Mr. Morse, the Democratic leader from Colorado Springs, led his party to pass four gun-control laws this year, coming after the movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colo., in July 2012.
The elections are being watched closely by both sides to see if this movement will be a referendum on Mr. Obamas gun-control agenda, and whether the grass-roots movement will spread. Thats why New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg wrote a personal check for $350,000 in the final week. The billionaire mayor wants to win these elections in order to say that it was a repudiation of the National Rifle Association.
Mr. Bloombergs group, Mayors Against Illegal Guns, labor unions and other left-wing and Democratic outside groups have spent millions on these state races. The NRA and other pro-Second...

Early voting for the recall started on Thursday. Mr. Call told me on Sunday that returns in Mr. Morsess district showed Republicans out performing in early voting. The Colorado Springs district is 34 percent Democrats, 26 percent GOP and 40 percent unaffiliated. However, 4,160 Republicans had voted, compared to 3,400 Democrats.
Ms. Girons district is much more strongly Democratic (45 to 23 percent) and early voting showed 6,300 Democrats had turned out compared to 4,000 Republicans...

Not a good sign.
These folks are not independent in politics as much as uninformed and apathetic.. Nonpartisan is a code word for those that don’t care enough to research the issues.. I wish they would respect their neighbors that do their homework, no matter which side they fall, and just stay home..
Not all Dimocrats are anti-gun.
This is what happens when the liberal disease destroys one state (California) and then migrates out spreading the disease.
This is not a Democrat-Republican issue. In Colorado, many Democrats are fiercely pro-gun.
Lots of democrats have guns and are pro-2nd.
I don’t know of a single republican that is a gun grabber.
If you mean "Former Republicans" who were so disgusted with their Democrat-Lite party, then I am hopeful about this.
But Independents can span a wide spectrum of philosophies. Some people think the current Democratic Party isn't liberal enough for them, and so claim an independent label.
Then you don't know any New England "Republicans."
Not necessarily. 32 percent indies probably means mostly conservatives disgusted with RINOs and small 'l' libertarians with no love for gun grabbers.
I’m in New England.
We’ll see tomorrow. Recall elections are tough. With Bloomturd pouring in last minute money to mobilise the bums and parasites it’s not going to be a slam dunk for freedom.
Just remember... Democrats own guns too.
This wasn’t just a shot a republicans it was a shot at all “Gun Owners”.
The American Federation of Teachers gave $25,000 to Morse and Giron.

Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
You have my sympathy. But a New England republican is decidedly different from those in most other parts of the country.
The following is a free film made by our U.S. War Department 1947. Although some of you already understand the relevance of the message to the issue in the thread (and to most issues in political threads now), it should be helpful. It won’t take much of your time. It’s only a little more than 17 minutes long. See the download links for various file formats.

True.
Don't throw us all out though; we're behind enemy lines here. Probably 1 in 5 New Englanders are true conservatives. Another 1 in 5 are establishment or apathetic-type GOP.
Of course, I was speaking in generalizations. Of course, conservatives exist in New England, and particularly those on FR are most like to be of that substance.
To all:
Look at the lobbies pushing against the Second Amendment: several billionaires, various medical organization lobbies, psychological organization lobbies, teachers’ unions, feminist organizations and others. Ask ourselves as to what’s in it for them, or are they afraid of losing influence or things that they have?
Notice that those influential constituents are not on food stamps. Most of them are not black. They’re not the typically despised, working class “male” on the block, who got his hands dirty before being laid off. Look at our economy and the first cause of the decline (mercantilism against the U.S.A.) and of the debt problem.
There are similar situations behind other pushes from government-linked organizations and businesses. It’s the new fascism, and it has already risen from its latency and deposed the economies and traditional families of several other countries with something in common between those countries.
Exactly.. This is my problem with many on this board.. The intolerance with North-easterners, that win elections, over their moderate stance on issues, especially social issues..
Our purity in politics in the south is a no-brainer, where we are bulletproof in our thinking as are almost every neighbor..
