The global tussle over Syrias civil war moved to the UN on Tuesday, where disagreements have already surfaced between US and its allies and Russia over Moscows plan to place Syrian chemical weapons under international control.
The Russian proposal emerged on Monday in a haphazard manner but has been quickly seized upon by the Obama administration and accepted by the Syrian government.
Supported by the US and the UK, France tabled a new UN Security Council resolution on Tuesday that would threaten military action if Syria did not hand over its stocks of chemical weapons.
However, only hours later Russian President Vladimir Putin insisted the US had to drop its threat of force against Syria as a condition for Damascus placing its chemical weapons stocks under international supervision.

When it comes to battle in the real world, who do put your chips on:
A community organizer? or
A 16 year vet of the KGB?
I believe your scenario is somewhat out of kilter with what is really going on. My take is that it is the world bankers i.e. gold mongers who are pulling the strings of Obama the puppet. These puppet masters along with the Saudis and their oil and gas rich middle east Arabs are playing the gold-for-oil game across Africa and the Middle East. Libya and Kadaffi were in the game including billions if not trillions of gold money until taken out by Obama’s real masters i.e. the Saudis and bankers. France apparently holds some cards in this game too ; they like other people to fight their wars.
Could we entice Putin to become the titular head of the Republican Party??? That is if it’s okay with elRushbo.
Since Obama will not agree to this there will be no deal.
Syria is none of our business.
Obama has proven quite willing to act without Congress and without consequence.
What are YOU going to do about it?
What are you talking about?
You made the demonstrably ridiculous claim that Obama “cannot act without congress”.
I’m talking about the fact that has and he will again.
And there’s nothing anybody WILL do about it.
If Obama acts without Congress’s approval he will be impeached!
Bull!
Nobody there with the guts.
They’re all afraid of being called racist.
Now, the Democrat Senate won't convict, but charges will be filed on him.
He can join his buddy Clinton as another impeached President.
And you will feel better, but the reality won’t change, which has been my point all along.
The Western Allies are insisting that ‘part of the deal’ at the UN Security Council to rid Syria of CW’S...(of which the French are the ones presenting the Resolution)... that Assad face trial for war crimes....
Russia’s Foreign Minister responded....”Not Acceptable”
This is going to move exactly as ol’ Assad said in 2010....”you agree to proposals as stated and the US always wants more and it is never enough”.
He’s basically right....they push and push til they get what they want...just as they do on the American people.
What will be presented to Congress will be framed so that if Syria doesn’t comply exactly as agreed... then Obama automatically has Congressional Approval to Strike.
So he ends up ultiamtely with Congressional Approval....even if he strikes before Assad has even attempted to relinquish the CWS>
Bottom line....whatever OB does will have Congressional Approval...no matter ‘when’ he chooses to hit Syria. Which is what he wants......then if he fails he can place the blame there as well.
Nothing has changed as regarding Congressional approval, Obama is not going to get approval to bomb them.
I haven’t been up to date tonight after working.....so perhaps you’re right...I’d like to think so but I never trust this administration or Congress til it’s a done deal...last I heard the vote was off til Wednesday....
WIth Obama this is NEVER true on the foreign stage.
Obama sides with our enemies and caves at every turn.
He only does what weakens America.
If Obama had any guts, last night he would have said:
“The U.S. will not have the terms of Syria’s surrender of WMD dictated by their largest weapons supplier, Russia.”
