rest of headline....goes on sale at Whole Foods
A radical artificial egg backed by Paypal billionaire Peter Thiel and Bill Gates goes on sale in US supermarkets for the first time today.
Made from plants, it can replace eggs in everything from cakes to mayonnaise - without a chicken ever coming close to the production process.
The team today started selling their plant egg, called Beyond Eggs, in Whole Foods in California - and say it could soon be available in supermarkets worldwide.
We want to take animals out of the equation, said Josh Tetrick, the firms founder. The food industry is begging for innovation, especially where animals are involved - it is a broken industry.

BACON!!! Food of the red, white and blue. :-)
The Blue Yolk of Death.
From the plants, right?
Sadly, if you crave sugar you HAVE TO drink designer soda like Jones because they use REAL SUGAR from sugar cane.
Or, if you can, find Mexican Coke made with real sugar.
American multinational sodas sold in NA are laden with High fructose corn syrup(HFCS), and it is no better than turkey bacon or artificial eggs. Laden with Mercury. It's not a real thing.
I've been drinking Coke in large quantities all my life and call it quits. Drinking neat Scotch is healthier. Now I drink Coke only when vacationing outside of North America where they still use real sugar.
Drink HFCS and you are candidate for diabetes medication. In Canada, 9 million out of 37M population are diabetics. go figure.
Also, when you crave chocolate make sure what you eat. I strike out everything from convenience stores. It only looks like chocolate. No Kit Kats and Toblerone for me, ever.
You need more than high school science knowledge nowadays to stay safe. Dangerous times.
Stay safe!
The only thing that Bill Gates developed was how to scam investors in a way never before executed so beautifully since J.P. Morgan turned a few million dollars of puffed up assets into the the world’s first billion dollar corporation. Gates masterfully became the world’s richest man while Microsoft shareholders watched their stock price stagnate for over 20 years.
..... WOW!!!! .... they have discovered something called an “Egg Substitute!!!” ..... Gee .... that’s never been done before.
“Green” eggs. I will not eat them on gold plates; I will not eat them, Mr. Gates.
Thanks DTA. Good to know. It’s clear I don’t know what is in Coke, but drinking one does accomplish what I need it to.
I don’t drink much soda any longer. The carbonation is the problem for me.
I appreciate the response.

LOL, reach much?
You forgot to mention that right now, with regular eggs, those kids with egg alergies are crying. That's right, they're crying.
They're crying in the corner. In the dark.
Weeping. And their mothers are weeping with them.
If only people gave up eating meat. Even, just, why... just eggs...
Then those poor children wouldn't have to weep.
Bwahahahahahaha! Shill!!!!
The govt controls how much water we can use in toilets, how much light in bulbs, and probably soon how much meat (or eggs or dairy) we can eat. It is coming, I am sure. We are slowly becoming prisoners, we just don’t quite realize it yet.
“SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE!!!”
Yeah, I know, and I’d still rather eat soylent green rather than a plant egg. Better protein.
Guaranteed to taste like ****.
Just another reason for me to dislike Gates, with a passion.
Of all the foods to choose from, what is with the egg?
I must be missing the point of this.
He is a freak, imho.
I think someone should invent artificial tofu or artificial soy... oh wait... we call that bacon
Sounds like a silly idea! But can you separate the yolk from the egg white for recipes that call for one or the other? Can you make meringue cookies from that powder?
Who'd want to sleep... with a plant?
Whole foods fills a niche market of people who feel good thinking they are saving the planet. It’s capitalism at it’s best, find a sucker and relieve him of his money. P.T. Barnum would be proud!!!
