SHOT ACROSS THE BOW: Second Amendment Wins: CO Senate Majority Leader RECALLED *UPDATED
Gateway Pundit ^ | September 10, 2013 | Dana Loesch

Colorado Democrat Senate Majority Leader John Morse concedes.

Colorado Democrats need a new senate leader. History was made tonight in Colorado as Democrat Senate Majority Leader John Morse was recalled for abridging Coloradans’s Second Amendment civil liberties. The tally is currently 52%-48%. According to Kelly Maher of Revealing Politics, Morse supporters need to “beat us two to one in remaining ballots.” Impossible.

It’s the first wave of legislative battles planned by citizens angry at state lawmakers who denied them a vote on their Second Amendment rights. As it stands now State Senator Angela Giron is narrowly ahead of her recall.

Morse conceded around 11:30 eastern time.

I’ve said this repeatedly: Colorado is ground zero for our gun rights. It is the litmus test for the country.

“Here’s the bottom line,” said Kurt Bardella, president and CEO of Endeavor Strategic Communications, which is consulting with the groups seeking to oust Morse and Giron. “What happens in one week will have significant implications for the overall debate on gun-control. … Lawmakers at every level of government see Colorado as a bellwether as to whether they can risk pursuing a more aggressive gun-control agenda.”

Maybe Morse can get a job with Michael Bloomberg’s anti-gun group. Colorado seems to be shifting from blue to purple.

Will develop with Giron results.

*UPDATE 1: Giron’s lead has flipped to a trail. 57%-43%

Well, the unconstitutional anti-gun laws are still in place and the Dems are still in control; so it's not over, but it's a good start.

The votes appear to be in all in. Both rats have conceded.

Giron gets crushed 56-44. She is replaced by Republican Former Pueblo Deputy Police Chief George Rivera.

Morse loses by only 51-49. He’s replaced by Republican former Colorado Springs Councilman Bernie Herpin.

Both replacements were chosen and slated by local GOP officials, apparently that’s how it works there.

Almost all ballots were cast in person with little early voting which is apparently unusual in Pueblo County.

No, CO isn’t ground zero, America is. If they get our guns we’re all dead.

it's not over, but it's a good start.

It is the first pause in the hemorrhaging in Colorado. I hope that it is the beginning of a direction change in Colorado. The conservatives are beginning to get animated and the Dems are vulnerable. The Pueblo win is huge! If a democrat can lose there, nowhere but Denver and Boulder is sanctuary for them.

What you said, and losing a recall in a district 47% democrat and only 23% Republican!

This tells me not ALL Dems are gun grabbers.

Astounding.

I read somewhere that Weiner and Spitzer both lost their bids for office, too!

I don't doubt that you're right, but I have no idea what happened in NYC. I think of that as lost left-wing-land; so, I guess they can do as they want. I will not be living there any time soon.

I am concerned about upstate NY, not the city. When the upcoming secession movement develops, I predict that the bulk of the state of NY will separate from the city. It will be interesting.

LOL! Honestly, I did NOT add "or one's family" to my tagline--but it's been there for a long time. Show's how observant I am--NOT!

Still, it's kind of weird...

Australia, Norway and now Colorado. Plus Obama self-immolating. It’s been a good couple of days. As you say, we needed some good news.

what is astounding is how we are all reading MSM news. It is like Pravda in Cold War Moscow. It is more important to read what is not published than what is published. not a peep from radio MSM

It is a great day here in Colorado! I am not surprised with Morse getting recalled. Colorado Springs is a conservative area. But, Pueblo??? It is second to Boulder to being the liberal capital of Colorado. It is a Democrap stronghold. For Pueblo to recall Giron, it is truly great to see conservatism is still alive in Pueblo!

...put them in their damn place, and teach their asses what “Live and Let Live” means, and maybe you’ll never HAVE to secede.

Oh, there's some of that here, believe me. Libs in Texas aren't nearly as outspoken and outrageous as they are in other parts of the country. As a former Californian, I can vouch for that.

We still outnumber them, and from what I can tell, enough conservatives are moving here that the balance is staying in check.

If we secede, it won't be because of the libs here. It'll be because of the ones in DC (and their RINO co-conspirators) who are destroying what's left of this once great country.

Dems hold the Senate by ONE seat going into the 2014 election. Hickenlooper road Obama’s coat tails and now he is facing a real election without the artificial support of Obama. He is also polling at about 45% right now. In short, he is vulnerable and the Dems know it. There are also enough vulnerable Dems in the house that it could flip as well. So it is quite possible in one election cycle for the Dems to lose the Senate, the Gov AND the house.

All because of their stupid push on gun control.

Already the shock waves are being felt in the Dem echo chambers. The panic is real, you can smell the fear. This could very well mean that come November 2014, the Dems will have gone from total control to no control over one issue and in one election cycle.

I might just have to sneak over to DU to see what their comments are in the morning.
