Newark mayor Cory Booker has a very active imagination. Eliana Johnson demonstrated that with her report on Bookers moving, highly detailed accounts of his involvement with T-Bone, a hard-luck drug dealer who Booker admitted to a friend is a fiction.
So count us as a little skeptical about heart-wrenching stories told by Cory Booker that happen to serve his rhetorical purposes. That is why Eliana has gotten interested in the case of Wazn Miller. In the sort of tragedy all too common in our cities, Miller was gunned down in Newark in 2004 in a murder that has never been solved.
Almost no one would have heard his name if Booker hadnt repeatedly told the story of his last minutes. According to Booker, he heard shots in his neighborhood, Miller stumbled backwards and collapsed into his arms, and then died, as Booker whispered into his ear, Stay with me, stay with me.
Now, we have no idea of the truth of this account, and as far as we know, the incident happened exactly as described by Booker. But, given the dubious existence of T-Bone, wed like to see documents backing up Bookers statements. Certainly, the public has a right to know if Booker has made a habit of embellishing or fabricating similarly cinematic stories.
It should be easy to get more information about the Miller case. New Jersey is an open-records state. Yet for weeks now, we have been stonewalled and given the run-around by everyone weve asked for help in obtaining the relevant police records. Weve asked nicely, weve asked firmly, weve asked in every way imaginable, but gotten nowhere. It is much easier to learn about the most sensitive aspects of top-secret national-security programs than it is to get Newark police records related to that day.
Enough is enough. Yesterday we filed suit against the Newark Police Department, the City of Newark, and Mayor Booker to obtain the records in keeping with New Jersey law. This suit shouldnt be necessary, but the official obstruction in Newark has made it so. In such an instance, everyone should favor openness.
We bet even T-Bone whoever or wherever he supposedly is would agree with us on this one.
Rich Lowry is the editor of National Review.
You would think, in a sane world, the local paper would do a little digging
Maybe ‘T-Bone’ is Reggie Love.....................
Well, actually, it's more like iteration 200.
Maybe T-Bone is OBAMA!
Isn’t this the same mayor that got upset that someone dared say blacks have a race problem and tried to close down a local paper?
Or was that Philly?
Ping
Certainly if Obama had a child, he would look like T-Bone.
Seems that Booker has the Clinton/Obama lying disease. And as he is a Democrat it’s Okee Dokee.
He’s right out of the new world order minor league farm system, like Obama.
As his life record presents only a skeleton of anything meaningful, like Obama, his career will by “synthesized” and then the result will be tirelessly marketed to the sheeple.
Of course, all Congressmen need to ultimately obey the orders of new world order, but I guess since Obama we’ve seen a brashness from NWO about lying that’s even uncharacteristic for NWO.
It’s like the Congressional testimony of “what difference does it make”, etc. Since the Lewinski case, I guess NWO feels that after multiple generations of dumbing-down Americans that the typical rube is so idiotic that there’s no need for Cabinet officials, the White House, or Congress to say things that make any sense whatsoever. Any childish idiotic lie I guess is now sufficient for public utterance.
Booker may as well don a superman costume and swing from the buildings of Washington - and the sheeple will just accept that he IS superman.
The NWO-controlled rags that pass for newspapers in NJ would gleefully run stories on their superman. Now it’s preposterous that they would investigate Superman ! Come on ! Not as long as there are their real enemies to investigate, er, smear, like anyone who gets too mouthy about opposing the NWO agenda in NJ.
The local paper is the Newark Star Ledger. About as PC & left as you can get without writing in Cuban/Spanish or Chinese. They have one guy who is not bad named Mike Mulshine I believe. I have not read the paper in 25-30 years. It is as they, say not even fit to line your bird cage.
I know Cory Booker and like him as a person. Wouldn’t vote for him, but he is not evil like most of the other dems. He is a good man with some...flaws. He who is without sin cast the first stone.
