Kerry's student spinner fired after WND report Resume fraud exposed after researcher cast Syrian

Five days after WND first broke the news that the strategy by Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Secretary of State John F. Kerry to cast members of the Free Syria Army as “moderates” among the Syrian rebel forces was the brain-child of a Wall Street Journal researcher, the analyst has been fired from a Washington think-tank for lying about her qualifications.

As WND reported, Elizabeth O’Bagy, 26, had claimed she was pursuing a Ph.D. in Arab studies and political science at Georgetown University and working on a dissertation on woman’s militancy.

In his Sept. 3 testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Tuesday, Kerry cited O’Bagy, arguing that the war in Syria is “not being waged entirely or even predominately by dangerous Islamists and al-Qaida die-hards,” but rather the struggle is being led but “moderate opposition forces – a collection of groups known as the Free Syria Army.”

Kerry was citing an opinion piece O’Bagy wrote for the Wall Street Journal on Aug. 30 titled “On the Front Lines of Syria’s Civil War.” It ran with a tag-line “The conventional wisdom – that jihadists are running the rebellion [in Syria] – is not what I’ve witnessed on the ground.”

O’Bagy, then the Syria team leader at the Washington-based Institute for the Study of War think-tank, claimed she had submitted and defended her dissertation and Georgetown University would soon confer her degree.

Farah, Corsi, Schilling. (To answer your question.)

I always thought it comical that Freepers hate, despise, mock WND unless the agency suits their aims. Then, after the thread fades, once again we are about the “tin hats.”

Money? WND is a COMPANY. The entire staff presumably endures 100x the pressure YOU endure when posting your “beliefs” (often based on their reporting) to FR and Facebook. Without original news gathering agencies like WND you surely feel you’d be more fortunate.

Their reward? Your ire.

This really makes sense and is a workable situation.

When you think of it, this is the Misadministration that gives you joebama as VEEP, Holder as DOJ and JF’nK as SECSTATE, keeping up with the race that NO SPOKESMAN is allowed to be smarter than or as smart as its ‘leader’.

These idiots think Caroline Kennedy would make a good ambassador because her father was JFK... Another Kennedy female went down in flames in MD because, among other things, she was dumber than a sack of rocks.

Jimmah Cartuh consulted with 13 year old Amy prior to trying to make a Nuclear Arms decision...
I can (possibly) see him asking what the mood may be amongst the children of the so called ‘elite’ - even as ridiculous as that may be you definitely do NOT stand at the podium and announce to the world your thoughts may have been the result of your chatting with a 13yo....

You also must realize that when you get to the Biden/Kerry level it gets almost impossible to find someone DUMBER than themselves.....

That gene pool ain’t but so deep.....

How credible is a “think tank” with a 26 year old kid for a director?

Hey! She's almost old enough to get off daddy's health insurance!

My ire? What are you talking about? Unlike you, I have no emotional investment in WND’s reputation. You didn’t answer my question: Who broke this story?

She is sort of cute. Anybody have any bikini pics of her? Just want to see if she is credible or not.

Exactly. Not many 26 yr olds are an expert on *anything*.

This is totally wrong. Many 26 year olds are well into their careers by then and have garnered a wealth of experience. A perfect example can be found in the porn industry. (sorry, I felt compelled to go there.)

Not many 26 year-old people have a PhD either.

At 18/19 you start university. Four years later (but actually probably 5 or 6 years later if you are average) at age 22/23 you start the MA. Two years after that you can start a PhD 24/25 The PhD takes anywhere from 3 to 6 years.

In some fields, education for example, they actually prefer PhD candidates have some outside experience and don’t like and sometimes will not accept the people going straight through.

Almost nobody, not even my really smart, super organized, incredibly focused wife gets a PhD at 26. 28/29 is about as young as you normally see and generally more like 31/32

"Exactly. Not many 26 yr olds are an expert on *anything*."

Think again! Some are indeed very much experts.

"At 4:17 on the afternoon of July 20, 1969, the average age of the men listening anxiously in mission control as Neil Armstrong fought to land the lunar module before running out of fuel was just 26 years old. Kranz has described himself as the old guy in the room. He was 35 that day."

http://amyshirateitel.com/2012/08/11/apollos-youthful-glow/

Many of the brightest men at NASA were in fact in their mid twenties working together to put man on the moon.

I don't know the guys name but the head of the project to develop the F1 engine to launch the Saturn five to the moon was given the job in his mid twenties. He and many others saw it through and developed the most powerful rocket engine the world has ever seen.

Pretty amazing

She's not the director. The director fired the 26-year-old for lying about having a PhD (kinda like Zero's daddy did, although there is absolutely no evidence that the 26-year-old is into bigamy or drunk-driving).

Nope. The director of the Institute for the Study of War is Kimberly Kagan, aged 41, shown below touring Basra in 2008, trailed by her husband Fred, 43, of AEI, and following Jack Keane, Gen., US Army, retired (not shown).

Sorry but your post is irrelevant.
The dichotomy between then (45 years ago & now) of what level of genuinely learned kids high schools & colleges were spitting out is enormous.
The mid-20's kids doing those things back then were coming out of college with a true education. The kids today are not coming out with a true education with which they can apply in the real world.

Very minor resume fraud. Funny how all the libs and conservative are outraged over a minor resume inflation. Its as if she murdered someone. Fraud and spin is what rules in DC

Meanwhile where is the outrage over NSA enhanced data gathering on US citizens starting in 2011. Obama regime requested this of the courts and it was approved
