A US Islamic extremist fighting in Somalia was killed Thursday in a shootout with Al-Qaeda linked Shebab militants, former comrades he had fallen out with, witnesses said.
Alabama-born Omar Hamami -- better known as Al-Amriki or "the American" -- was one of the most prominent foreigners fighting in Somalia, and the US State Department had offered a $5 million bounty for his capture.
"There was a gun battle between Amriki and his men and other fighters, the reports are that Amriki is among those killed," said Moalim Ali, a resident in Bardhere district.

No, sad part is his is mother is from Alabama and is a Southern Baptist. From everything I’ve read over the years about him, he was a perfectly normal teen until about the time he was a senior in HS, then got progressively worse when he attended the University of S. Alabama and started attending some Muzzie school on the side.

Why not yank his United States Citizenship...no passport=no country. If the State Department can afford $5million, why couldn't they afford to protect Chris Stevens etc. Hillary of course did have to travel a lot with her entourage, hotels, parties etc....what good would Hammami be tho them anyway...is State in the business of interrogation?
