Christine Quinn Has Given Up on Bill Thompson, Too (Trying to Push Out Lone Black Candidate)
New York Magazine ^ | 9/12 | Joe Coscarelli

If Bill de Blasio missed winning the Democratic nomination for mayor outright, it's only just barely. But as Bill Thompson clings to the idea, pending a re-count, of a runoff — which polls show him losing badly — just about everyone else is ready to move on. "Please rally behind the Democratic nominee as quickly as possible," said third-place finisher Christine Quinn today, echoing Thompson's own campaign chair. "I think it's clear to most folks that that person is going to be Bill de Blasio," Quinn added, "but that's a decision for Bill Thompson to make himself." Translation: You're all alone, Thompson. It's time to walk away.

Not surprisingly, the guy that worked at the MTA won the nomination for Republicans. I wanted George McDonald to win it. Now we’re probably sure to get De Blasio.

At any rate, Doomberg should change his affiliation to Socialist.

Despite all his nonsense about guns and large sodas, Bloomberg kept the crime late low and the budget under control. Quinn was probably the only candidate that would have continued those policies.

Bloomberg will start to seem like Ronald Reagan in a few weeks, NYC is going so far to the left.

Electing de Blasio may turn out to be NYC's Coleman Young moment.

And I’m sure Putin’s feelings were irreversibly inured.

Somewhere there is a Ruskie laughing his ass off.

Bill Thompson is Ronald Reagan compared to de Blasio.

The guy is more like Obama: expert at PR but nothing else.

People in NYC are tired of the low crime rate, and they are taking action to reverse it.
