Shepard Smith has signed a new multi-year deal with Fox News Channel in which he will become the primary breaking news anchor for the network. In the process, he will lose his 7pmET Fox Report, while his 3pmET program Studio B will now be known as Shepard Smith Reporting.
In addition to the 3pm hour, Smith, who made his name with breaking news coverage, will now be the breaking news anchor for other Fox News programs. His new role will include a new studio, known as The Fox News Deck.

Shep Smith reporting from New Orleans on the horror and death in the Super Dome during Hurricane Katrina was all I needed to know about what a lying drama queen he is. As I recall, no one died in the Super Dome although there was significant looting of the private suites and general destruction of the facility by the primarily africanhyphenamerican occupiers of the site.
I don’t get what FOX sees in Smith. He’s okay at delivering the headlines, but he’s too snarky for my tastes, especially when he’s supposed to be one of the “straight news” types instead of an opinion guy.
You are these weakest link on FNC...Goodbye.
Whadda ya know...Looks like he's gonna be THE face of Fox news.

“Straight news”? I seriously doubt that.
I agree, Smith fails to convey a real anchorman image. I’ve seen him get too emotional on-air and other times he’s telling jokes. I haven’t seen Fox News since moving to China 3 years ago, but as I recall Brett Baier does have the anchor man image. Especially when it comes to Breaking News, you have to control your emotions. I anticipate Fox News will be headed downhill soon. They’re getting arrogant and that breeds careless mistakes. That’s what happened to CNN before Fox News trumped them in the ratings.
Haha
On a serious note I hope he isn’t one of those semi-flamboyant ones and go Anderson cooper on us. Dang I can see Fox turning into just another liberal mouthpiece in the future and then what kind of representation in media will we have? None.
I agree.
For Fox to become more responsive to breaking news is a good idea, but Shep is never going to convey the gravitas that such a move calls for.
A drama queen as lead anchor may boost Fox's "diversity" credentials - but it does serious damage to its news credentials.
But if Ailes gave a damn about serious news credentials he could have gone with Britt Hume, Chris Wallace or Major Garrett.
Since his Katrina coverage, I've always stayed clear of Fox when Smith was on. Now I'll have to tune Fox off more often.
Even Anderson Cooper would have shared. besides, Shep needed to save some for his hair.
The Nancy Grace of Fox News, a snarky drama queen.
The faggots continue to march across America .... hand in hand with commies, muslims and sundry enemies of freedom
Shep Smith politicized the New Orleans disaster and laid the blame directly at the feet of G W Bush. Shep is a either a despicable liar of a fool.
...Or a fool, or both.
“Now I’ll have to tune Fox off more often.”
Agreed. I avoid Shep Smith and his snarky delivery whenever possible. The only other person on FOX that has that has me switching off immediately is Jerry (Let’s Divulge Battle Ops on Live TV) Rivers.
Oops. I mean Geraldo (Al Capone’s Closet of Wonders) Rivera.
That queer-bait is one reason I no longer watch Fox news TV.
fox is owned and run by liberals and shep is as gay as rip taylor.
When I turn on Fox and see that liberal queer, I turn it off quickly, same with Geraldo.
