Under ObamaCare, Doctor's Visits Will Be Interrogations

By BETSY MCCAUGHEY Posted 09/13/2013 06:18 PM ET

If you think the Obama health law is only for the uninsured and you won't be affected, you're in for a surprise next time you go to the doctor. Be prepared for questions unrelated to why you are seeking medical help — questions that you don't want to answer.

Whether you're at the dermatologist or the cardiologist, you'll likely be asked: "Are you sexually active? If so, with one partner, multiple partners or same-sex partners?"

Doctors are being turned into government agents, pressured financially to ask questions they consider inappropriate and unnecessary, and to violate their Hippocratic Oath to keep patients' records confidential.

Going to the doctor can be embarrassing. But for your own good, you confide things to a doctor you wouldn't tell anyone else. What is happening here is different.

"This is nasty business," says Dr. Adam Budzikowski, a New York cardiologist, who called the sex question "insensitive, stupid, and very intrusive." He could not think of an occasion when a cardiologist would need such information.

Doctors and hospitals that don't comply with the federal government's electronic health records requirements forgo incentive payments now and face financial penalties from Medicare and Medicaid starting in 2015. The Department of Health and Human Services has already paid out over $12.7 billion in incentives to doctors and hospitals.

I never went for my government checkup for Medicare, after a friend told me about the nosy questions. That was less than three years ago. My answer to those type questions is a very polite but curt "that's personal" when it's none of their damn business.

Just under four years ago, I got caught up in a quarantine for a disease it turns out I didn't have. The hospital made it very difficult to get out, even when it was established I had something else. The experience makes me wonder if I'd go to a hospital again if there's a quarantine situation that can be used to incarcerate people against their will.

The IRS has already demonstrated a willingness to leak confidential to help Democrats in elections. When the IRS has ALL of our medical and financial information, it will be leaked and Republicans will be afraid to show their face, let alone challenge a Democrat in an election. And with the help of the NSA, every website visited by a Republican will be public information. ObamaCare is NOT about healthcare-it’s all about political power and destruction of the two party system.

>>An article here on FR some time back stated that the ‘codes’ for medical billing have already exceeded 140,000.

That’s typical statistical BS. A code is a combination of smaller codes. The total combinations exceed 140,000. When ICD-10 becomes the standard, that number will go up a couple orders of magnitude because each code will have more suffixes, but the actual number of smaller codes will only multiply (which is big, but not as big as the stories would lead you to believe).

The Department of Transportation has in the past and currently has filed federal criminal cases against aircraft pilots for false statements made on aeromedical applications.

“First they came for the doctors and I did nothing because I wasn’t a doctor.....”

Making False statement to Government or Government agent:

18 USC § 1001 - Statements or entries generally
USC › Title 18 › Part I › Chapter 47 › § 1001
(2) makes any materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or representation; or
(3) makes or uses any false writing or document knowing the same to contain any materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or entry;

I can see where in the future similar charges or penalties against patients will be filed by the government against those patients receiving Obamacare and who have made false statements in answer to questions.

If you don't give any info to your doctor, will the IRS or HHS progress to enhanced interrogations? I would not put waterboarding past the 0bama regime when it comes to U.S. citizens.

Sorry, that's just the way it is.

Do what I will do, refuse to answer any questions regarding anything that does not have to do with why you are there. If we all do that, they will realize the bill they passed is a joke.

Alot of the places I shop ask for a phone number. It used to be email addy but they all ask for phone numbers now. I just say no.
Went to the doc awhile back to get a refill renewal and he had a list of tests the government wanted done on me. I said no. He hates Obama so didn’t say anything and just moved on.
People need to learn to use the word no. I use it all the time. ;)

"All I can say is prove it."

Keep in mind that when dealing with the Government you are Guilty until proven innocent. And with no recourse against the Government if you are financially able to have proved yourself innocent.

Doctor: “Are you sexually active? “
Me: “Right this moment? This table is kind of cold.”
Doctor: “If so, with one partner, multiple partners or same-sex partners?”
Me: “I’ll take two. Thanks.”

I went to a dentists’ office in the late 90’s, the kind that has several dentists in one office. The registration/questionnaire form they had required had 30 or 40 questions. Most of the questions had nothing to do with dental care of any kind. I remember questions like: “have you ever been married before/ how many times?, etc.

When I politely refused to answer all the questions completely, I was told I would have to find dental care elsewhere. I thanked them, took the form with me and left.

When you have a medical emergency however, it is hard to stand on principle.

Postal workers would make good spies too.
They are always rolling up on peoples homes daily, unannounced, noting if you are home, noting who is in communication with you, who you are conducting business with.
