Anyone remember when Kevin Ballew was shot 43 years ago in Washington DC?

Police raided his house for some reason. He jumped out of bed, grabbed a black powder pistol and was shot down.

Police claimed he shot at them but his pistol had only one shot fired and it was found 90 degrees away in the wall and one foot above the floor showing he was shot before he fired a shot while falling.

They tried to claim his house was raided because he had a sawed off shotgun. No sawed off shotgun was found. I don’t believe he was found guilty of anything.

The ATF raid (1971) on Ken Bellew’s home was over hand grenades. Only inert ones were found and Bellew suffered brain damage from a head wound inflicted by gunfire. Here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_Ballew_raid

Rep. John Dingell (D-MI) coined the term “jackbooted thugs” to describe the ATF actions in the Ken Bellew raid when his committee investigated the case.
