0bama discussed Gun Control with 10 of his closest supporters. 8 or 9 of them agreed. Therefore the 80 to 90% claim of support.

Appearing on ABC News’s “This Week With George Stephanopoulos” on Sunday, President Barack Obama said he had 80 to 90 percent of the country agreeing with him in favor of gun control, but the he could not get gun-control legislation enacted because of a “faction of the Republican Party.”

This is great insight into our President's state of mind and view of his "world."

Maybe if you consider all "57" states, and a selected subset of the population to get to your 80-90%. Maybe he means that 80-90% of the people know that guns can be dangerous if misused. Maybe he only considered blue states. Who knows?

I don’t think people thought it through when they said mental health checks should be part of granting gun licenses. It can’t go anywhere good if the government gets to decide who’s too crazy to own a gun.
