Washington Post ^ | September 16, 2013 | Max Fisher

Posted on 09/16/2013 10:56:29 AM PDT by maggief

Alexei Pushkov, head of the foreign affairs committee of Russia’s parliament, seized on the shooting Monday at the Washington Navy Yard to reiterate long-standing Russian criticisms of the United States. "Nobody’s even surprised anymore," he wrote, sarcastically describing the still-ongoing shooting as "A clear confirmation of 'American exceptionalism.'"

Those Russians have a pretty good sense of humor with these zingers.

They should go on SNL or Comedy central.

They were already on SCTV.

Well, I’ve been arguing with some pro-Putin, President for Life (KGB retired), Freepers, that this was a particularly nasty thing to write. And one who’d stayed home from school today says the comment is not mocking of the USA. The overriding factor is that for these types Putin is not an American Democrat, he’s given up on sending people to the Gulag, and embraced a public image of being a pro-Christian. I say screw Obama and screw Putin. They’re not conservatives, folks.

I would still be interested if we find out if Mr. Pushkov suddenly winds up with a case of the “Kremlin Flu.”

I can’t imagine Putin could be too happy with this....I would think he’d be a little more PR savvy than that.

It's certainly the case with these new Smart TVs they're coming out with.

Now that joke doesn't seem nearly so funny anymore.

Now we know how it feels when we butt in on the internal affairs of every other country in the world. When Jimmy Carter was doing that, I was amazed that more people didn’t call him on it.

Ivan can bite me! I like Ted Cruz’s response to this issue, Putin is an evil KGB tyrant who wraps him self in Russia’s flag and the cross to get what he wants, which is power.

Well, Obama opened this can of worms. Just the thought of him blabbering about exceptionalism was too much for Putin not to respond to, and now everyone in the Russian gov’t is a late-night comic.

It would appear that perhaps that official might try explaining the millions and millions of deaths caused by certain Russian leaders during the past century.

Starvation, freezing, and concentration camps...now that’s exceptionalism.

and the new XBox One will be able to know what your doing with your hands, whether you are sitting or standing and how many people are the room and listen to you too.

None of this will be hidden from the NSA either.

We are the ones who stuck our noses into Russia’s business with “P*ssy Riot” and Russia’s standing up against the sodomites.

The 'russian politician' had better make sure the Wachington Navy Yard incident wasn't an act of Islamic terror before making sly comments.

I've heard they have their own muslim problem over there.

Two cheers for Cruz, who may be hated by the dilettante, philistine, pro-Putin types who think Putin’s one of us.

I think this is Putin saying “FU” louder and clearer than ever. He smells Obozo’s blood in the water.

There seem to be many Putin-fellators on FR lately, that's for sure.

Some people just hate freedom. It's frightening. A tinpot foreign dictator-in-all-but-name is their hero.

MSNBC is reporting that it was a group of deranged Tea Party Republicans who are upset that Bohner wont shut down the government to defund Obama-care.
