LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- It was a simple tweet from one of Louisville's most influential ministers, but it spoke volumes.
Saint Steven's pastor, Kevin Cosby, is speaking out about Rand Paul.
"What I appreciate about what Rand Paul said was at least he was trying to provide some answers and solutions," Cosby said.
At a community meeting in Louisville, Paul said he's for parental choice of education, job creation and the expungement of records for non-violent felons.
"I am in favor of people allowed to get their rights back," Paul said, "the right to vote, the second and fourth amendment back. All your rights to come back."
Reverend Cosby posted on his Twitter page, "No one in this country is creating a better message of uplift for the African American community than Rand Paul.
Dr. Cosby said he applauds the senator and it's not about the political affiliation, but rather what politicians stand for. He says Rand Paul stands for the important issues that need to change that affect the people here in West Louisville.
Senator Paul has said he's considering running for president in 2016.

Rand is right on these issues and many others, I like Senator Cruz as well..but could support Mr. Paul as President (I believe he's more Reagan Conservative) than his father as well!..

If Rand wants more than just the Libertarian support, he'll have to renounce, thoroughly, his Amnesty plan first.
If he does that, I'll be a whole-hearted supporter of him.
If he doesn't, there isn't a chance in Hell of him getting my vote.

‘His’ amnesty plan is absolutely peanuts compared to the Democrat policy of open-borders and welfare we’ve had for decades.
Single-issue voters have gone the way of the dodo for good reason.

Really?
That one issue, where he will have granted Amnesty to 30 million+ Undocumented Democrats will ensure Absolute Democrat rule for generations and the end of this Constitutional Democratic Republic we call the United States.
You make excuses for the treachery of Rand Paul on this issue all you want, but, given his desire to stab conservatives in the back with this issue, he'll never get the broad-based support of the GOP base for a Presidential run he needs until he completely renounces it.

LOL. “make excuses”, hey ignoramus, try blaming the Democrats who’ve been pushing this since before Rand was born. Or do you think the Paul clan is responsible for the immigration debacle?
He’s already on short notice from the right wing thanks to the “isolationist” propaganda organs (among others); if he trips the left-wing’s racist-o-meter he’ll be screwed to the wall permanently.
RP’s position on amnesty - for or against - amounts to a fart in a hurricane against the influence of the left-wing machine.

What’s wrong with “secure the border”, “secure the vote” and “no new pathway to citizenship”?

Whats wrong with secure the border, secure the vote and no new pathway to citizenship?
What part of "Normalize" or make legal don't you understand?
That automatically puts them in line to become citizens.
30 million+ Undocumented Democrats.
And "Secure the Border" according to his plan, not the amendment he proposed to Marco Rubio's plan, meant looking for a "Certification" from congress that the border was secure, not a fence, no E-Verify, just a certification.
Has he upgraded his original "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" plan to now include a complete fence along the southern border?
Because if he has not, where a "Secure Border" is concerned is just more hot air from the Open-Borders crowd. The same things were said by GWB, McCain, et. all.

You're still making excuses for him by pointing to the Democrats.
Rand Paul's "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" plan is just another attempt at providing Amnesty for 30 million+ Undocumented Democrats.
I don't care what the Democrats do, they're evil and I expect this type of crap from them.
I don't expect somebody who is telling me he is conservative, like Rand Paul is doing, and then piss on me and tell me it's raining.

So, here is what I was able to dig up so far.
His legislation would also build 100 miles of fence every year until Congress decides the border is secure.
So once again, we aren't dealing with an actual commitment to a complete fence, just enough fencing until the congress decides the fence is secure.
Once again, the Congress is comprised of 50% Democrats who already view the border as secure enough and probably somewhere north of at least 15% of Republicans who feel the same way.
They would not even need to build 100 miles of fence to get a "Certification" from congress of a "Secure Border".
This is a pretend "Get Tough" on border security proposal by the big 'L' Libertarian, Rand Paul.
Once again, Rand Paul wants to play games with Conservatives and pretend he is for a border fence.
