Police testing new sonar equipment during a training exercise at Foss Lake in Oklahoma discovered five skeletons inside a blue 1969 Chevy Camaro and a 1950s-era vehicle perhaps linked to the early 1960's disappearance of a couple.

A few years ago a car was found in a lake in Kansas, with the body of a man from Milwaukie.
Why? This one came with 3..........
I’m guessing a curve in the road or some such.
You can buy sonar at Bass Pro Shop all day long...............
LOL
“What’s the common factor?”
I would guess that there is a boat ramp nearby.
Surprised there hasn’t been a Ted Kennedy reference yet
The second car looks like a 49 or 50 Chevy. My first car was a 50.
could be a sicko setting up false lighting to trick them?
Many lakes across the country should have old boat ramps into lakes checked for dumped cars. It’s real easy to roll one into the lake never to be seen again.....
Play twilight zone music.
Don’t name the car Christine =)
Looks like an old Pontiac to me. Nasty.
That'll buff right out.
52. Last split front window.
I'd say road, but that should imply more vehicles being found.
Bad luck, more than anything. The bigger concern is, if they knew these folks were headed to Foss Lake, why didn't they perform a cursory search of the lake?
How deep and how far out from the shore were these vehicles?
Appears to be the case.
Noticed in the slide show (#4) at this link that the lake is low and shows a drop-off at end of paved ramp.
“Forensic Files” had an episode on two kids who disappeared. I can’t remember the state but it involved farming or ranching. The boy was on the phone with his mom when he suddenly stopped. Police searched, but could find nothing.
Weeks went by and then a farmer called in with the sad news. He was pumping out a sludge pond and found the couple’s car. The boy evidently was trying to make a short cut and ran into the pond. They never explained why the kids couldn’t get out (open top or Jeep type vehicle) but they were pretty well dissolved as the pond was toxic with manure or some such.
Helluva way to go.
Lake currents, high speed, poor lighting, and alcohol. It’s a reservoir with a dam.
dailymail goes deeper into the story http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2424175/Foss-Lake-Oklahoma-2-cold-cases-opened-2-cars-containing-5-skeletons-lake.html
>>>Restorable? Heck, there are Camaros on the road that look worse than this............
A dab or two of Bondo putty and an Earl Sheib $99 paint job will bring them right back to “original” condition.
