ATLANTA -- Tiger Woods would like to see a time limit placed on viewer call-ins of possible rules violations and endorsed PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem's view that such situations need to be studied. Woods, who has been involved in three high-profile rules infractions this year while also coming under scrutiny for a drop at The Players Championship, said Wednesday that the potential for improvements in technology is part of the issue. PGA Tour commish Tim Finchem says spectators calling violations is "awkward." Should this be able to happen? Vote! "I think what the commissioner said yesterday is very appropriate,'' Woods said at East Lake Golf Club, where the season-ending Tour Championship begins Thursday. "There needs to be a time limit, and I think there needs to be a discussion obviously where is that time limit? Where is that line of demarcation? You've got to start with disqualification and then work our way back from there. "I'm sure there's going to be a lot of discussion over it. What's going to happen over the course of time? Is every player going to be mandated to have a camera follow them around everywhere they go -- all 156 players (in a regular tour event) for every shot? Or is there a certain time limit when we're going to have to do it? Is it going to change in the digital age? These are all questions and answers that need to be resolved in the near future.''

He should have had some of then “Tiger Boyz” come out and move the twigs for him. Then it would have been allowed.
Tiger: Golf sure would be great, if it weren't for all those pesky spectators, fans, camera crews, sponsors...
Of course he would, because he's a lowlife cheater!
It's pretty sad that someone so talented feels the need to cheat, but he's perfect for today's America.
for later
I am both a competitor and an official in a sport judged strictly by human observation. We racewalk judges are not supposed to listen to anyone else but base calls only on what we see. No photos, no instant replay. I’m less inclined to call Woods a whiner here.
It’s stupid for the PGA to rely on viewers to do the job they should be doing.
And what about the guys who never get on camera, isn’t the policy unfair to those golfers that are always on television?
Hey Tiger why not just stop cheating.
You’ve wished there were no spectators on the course for your entire career, now you want no tv also.
That incident with the boulder probably cost Ken Venturi his announcing job. He went batzo crazy on the air about it. He took on the Tiger and the tiger won.
Given that his ball clearly moved and he could not have missed it ... and given that he backed away from the ball after it happened ...
How about we call him CHEATER instead.
Don’t cheat and it’s not a problem.
“And what about the guys who never get on camera, isnt the policy unfair to those golfers that are always on television?”
Well stop the Woods idolatry and have the cameras on him all the time, even when he isn’t near the lead.
Are you saying that Tiger is a Cheetah?
Are any other golfers supporting Tiger’s position?
Tiger is not the only golfer on television. Where are the other cheating scandals?
Entitled Tiger has a little ethical issue when it comes to the rules.
Tiger sees the Rules of Golf as an impediment he would like to see rolled away (”oscillated” in Tiger-Speak) for him by a new “enabling rule”. His behavior this year shows he just won’t/can’t call a penalty on himself, and he feels constrained by the rules everyone else is supposed to play within. He is hurting the great game of golf.
Interesting... this coming from the only “top player” to have been involved in a controversy like the one this past weekend (or the other 2-3 incidents this season). Also interesting that this comes up in a year in which the PGA is promoting how honest its players are, signing their cards, and promising their fidelity to the rules of the sport.
I’m probably jinxing it, but here’s hoping Tiger continues to have a frustrating season this coming weekend. I’d love to see Dufner, Horshel, Sticker, Zack Johnson, Jim Furyek, Phil, etc. prevail.
